One of my favs 10/27/2009

Their seafood Palermo is the absolute best seafood dish I've ever eaten. Vegetables are plentiful and perfectly cooked, food is seasoned beautifully, and the best cannoli ever! Ever! I judge a restaurant by its bread, vegetables and its coffee, not usually the focus of a meal, but if the unimportant things are done so well, it's an indicator that care is given to every detail. Sisley does all those things well. Great service, friendly warm place for an every night dinner or a special night on the town. Pros: Great seafood, perfectly cooked veggies, incredibly tasty more

I am a chef.....Best Italian Home Cooked Meal in LA 7/13/2009

I have been a chef since I was a little boy growing up in Bologna, Italy about 30 years ago and Sisley Italian Kitchen is my favoritre restaurant in Los Angeles. FOOD, SERVICE, and AMBIANCE are what I look for in a restaurant. \r \r FOOD: Best Metaballs I have ever tried (outside my grandma's in Bologna), the apple pecan chicken is to die for, Alll the salads are crsip, fresh, and make you feel good after you eat them. Try the Itlian Quesedilla...its innnovative and DELICISIOUS. \r The Brunch on sat and sund....wowowowow. Enough said.....\r \r DESSERT: if you havent tried the cannoli.....you are basically not alive. GO THERE!!!! \r \r SERVICE: All the waiters are extrmely attentive and helpful. Any waiter will bring you what you want and will never tell you ""I will go get your server"". I HATE when waiter say that.\r \r AMBIANCE: They have tables and booths for all sizes. The restaurant is cozy yet elegenat.\r \r Once you eat at Sisley Italian Kitchen....you will go back AGAIN and AGAIN....\r \r I have never written a review.....but this restaurants deserves it and you deserve to enjoy it..... Pros: Best Service, Best Pricing, Best Meatballs, Best Cesaer more

Nowhere else for great Italian in West LA! 7/13/2009

I've been going to Sisley Italian Kitchen regularly for the last ten years, and I have to say that whenever I'm away from LA, I simply can't find this kind of food anywhere else. The pasta is delectable, and they have some of the tastiest veal picatta I've ever eaten. Great service (including regular visits from the owners who are always a pleasure to meet!) and heavenly desserts (even in NY's Little Italy, I defy you to find cannoli's as good as Sisley's... seriously) round out a perfect evening out. Not too expensive, either. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Pros: Delicious food, fresh veggies, nice family environment Cons: Wish they were open all night! more

Terrific Food. Warm & Cozy Space. Excellent Service. 3/21/2008

This place is located in the Westside Pavilion. Great new movie theatre there makes this place the perfect place for dinner to go with the movie. The host was remarkabble and remembered everyones name and kept things running very smoothly. Once we got seated, had service immidiately. Very nice wine list. The food ranked right up there with some of the best Italian restaurants and the price is super reasonable. Super for just drinks and apps too! more

Helpful servers & big dishes! 3/20/2008

I was at Sisley just a few days ago for a business lunch and it just what we were looking for. The staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything coming on time. We started with a lot of fresh bread then I had a fresh salad followed by a soup. Can't complain about the food or the portions, they were REALLY big! I would definitely want to come back with my fiance for a romantic dinner. Pros: parking & nice portions more

They got rid of their wood fire oven 1/19/2007

This review will be in 2 parts--make sure to read all of it...\r On December 30, 2006 , our experience at this restaurant was unacceptable. Note in the past it has been usually very good, but we have not been back due to the following:\r \r 1) Although I made a reservation for 6:45 pm and pushed it back to 7 pm due to traffic. I had the courtesy to call and inform your host I was running late. I was assured that they would hold our booth. However, when we arrived at 7 pm on the dot, we still had to wait over 10 minutes for our table. Did the host not believe that we were going to show?\r Once seated..\r 2) Takes over five minutes to get water\r 3) 10 minutes for waitress to greet us at our table and take our drink orders\r 4) Additional 10 minutes for one cup of milk and glass of red wine to arrive; waitress leaves quickly without taking our main dish order. We are puzzled as to why. \r a fellow server sees our looks of bewilderment and asks if he can help and we politely request that someone takes our food order. \r Waitress notices us talking with fellow server and immediately comes over\r 5) Proceed to order our main dishes with pizza being our number one choice Then we were informed with a laugh by our waitress that the brick oven is broken and that a gas oven is on order. WHAT0How could this be AND\r Why weren?t we informed of this on the phone when we made reservations? \r Why not when we first arrived and seated with menus?\r BACK UP ORDER\r Lasagna: told we would have to wait at least 25 minutes for that dish, again a real weird laugh from waitress with no suggestions as to alternatives\r While waiting for our food to come over: \r Head host guy comes over and asks us if everything is okay. We say too bad about the brick oven, what?s going on with that. And he says oh a new one is on order and we say, our waitress says it will be gas not brick fueled by wood, he says you know I don?t know and walks away!!!!\r \r please see part 2. Pros: zero Cons: no valet parking, part of the westside pavillions mall on pico ave, inside the mall more

I took my wife there, and she love it! What special about this restaurant, the dessert, ""The Tiramisu"". the best homemade ever, and was award winning best dessert in LA times newspaper in early in the 90's. more
