Best

Thai House/Ginger is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in town. I probably haven't been to ALL of them, but I've tried to go to all that I've come across. I've always enjoyed...

Worst

I read a good review about this place in The Alibi and since it was close to the house we thought we'd give it a shot. I will say that our server was very kind and took care of us...

Long-time satisifed customer (6 years and running). 12/31/2009

Thai House/Ginger is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in town. I probably haven't been to ALL of them, but I've tried to go to all that I've come across. I've always enjoyed any dish that I've ordered. I especially like that it is always quiet, and there is never a crowd. Then again, I only go there for dinner. I think there is a little more traffic at lunch. Anyway, I will continue to go back as long as they continue to serve up good food in a comfortable atmosphere. If you are swayed by negative reviews (especially those that use terms like ""disgusting""), I would suggest giving it a try. It's inexpensive, and the chances are very good that you'll like it. If you're looking for some sort of experience that will fill a void in your life, this may not be the place. If you just want dinner, it's fantastic. Pros: Good food. NEVER crowded. Quiet atmosphere. Cons: Closed in the afternoon. more

another crummy Thai restaurant to wipe away from my memory 4/23/2008

I read a good review about this place in The Alibi and since it was close to the house we thought we'd give it a shot. I will say that our server was very kind and took care of us. That was as good as it got...I ordered the Red Curry and my wife ordered Drunken Noodles. While we waited for it to come the server brought us some soup from the buffet along with an eggroll and a couple of wontons. The soup was OK, the eggroll and wontons were stone cold and we all know how good those deep fried items are at that temperature...The food came, my curry was a bowl of red grease/oil littered with a few chicken parts and 30 bamboo shoots, after moving it around with my fork I unearthed 3 thin slices of red pepper. The rice was deformed. My wifes noodles looked like they were from a Stouffers meal that was burned in the microwave (except that wouldve cost $5 less). They awarded her some of the same quality chicken that I had in mine. Pros: The service was good and the Thai Iced Tea tasted fine Cons: The oil slick that I can feel floating around in my stomach more

dreadful 7/31/2006

I've been to perhaps 100 Thai places around the world, and this is the worst. I did order an unusual dish, the swimming rama recommended here. It was flavorless, greasy, with bitter spinach - even the rice was bad. I couldn't even wash it down with a Singha, as they don't sell beer. Cons: food, ambiance more

Editorial
  • The Scene
The bare-bones decor isn't much to speak of, but it doesn't really matter when the food is this good.

    The Food
Bad Thai food is searing-hot flavorless...
