SUPER CROWDED ON WARM WEEKENDS! 4/9/2008

When spring and summer approaches, prepare for the crowds. this is the best alternative to driving to the beach. some budget-conscious students will drop on in to take a dip in the cooling water or lay out on the beautiful rocks. A fun time for those who dare to attempt the rapids in an innertube or raft. Do not wear expensive necklaces or watches or you may lose them! Pros: scenic, location, beauty, price Cons: crowded more

Awesome park, but beware of the loose dogs! 1/23/2008

Nice walking trails, great for jogging or birdwatching ( good hawk spotting). But recently this park has turned into a dog park- 30-50 loose dogs on the weekends, so be careful. I can't understand why the leash law cannot be enforced around Richmond- particularly in this park. But I recommend the park, and a popular swimming spot in the 'dog' days of summer! more

the best river park on the james 7/25/2002

not too much to say, its a very fun park, especially if you can get out there on a weekday when its not super crowded. The water is not too clean, i know more then one person that has gotten some sort of bacterial infection on their mouths of skin. If they could clean the water quality up it would be great Pros: easy to get to, fun rapids Cons: horrible parking, water is not clean more
