Cape Cod 9/1/2006

Beautiful but crowded. Maybe east coast folks are just used to this. I think this takes away from the beauty if you have to wait in traffic and fight your way out the Cape. more

Cape Great 6/23/2006

CapeCod is a beauiful place, especially the beaches. They're arent a ton of people just going to just get a tan. They are actually enjoying the beauty.I just moved to Florida after living on Cape, my whole life yeah Florida has nice sand, and pretty water, but I wouldn't swim in it. First off warm water makes me feel as though there is something in it. Cape's water is not cold, your just not from here. I live on the panhandle right now, and my mother grew up here, and she still thinks that nothing can stop Cape Cods beauty. Hawaii is a very beautiful place, but what island isnt? Too many tourists. And as for no snacks, thats crazy, this is the Cape not Hollywood, nobody is going to bring it for you.Cape Cod is swarming with especially near the NSS with great places to snack, or even stop for dinner. It has some on the top 10 places. more

Cape Cod Beaches 5/6/2006

The National Sea Shore is one of New England's treasures. It is pristine as it is beautiful. I can not compare to other beaches of the more tropical variety but it has its own unique beauty. The dunes, the water, the rocky bottom to the water are all unique to the area. Cape Cod is without doubt one of the most beautiful places God created. more

Stay away 5/3/2006

Dont come to the Cape beaches, they stink and you wont like them. Those responsible for ""leaking"" this outrageous #1 rating should be found and held accountable. Were supposed to keep this secret to ourselves remember? more

Watch out!! 8/11/2005

Hey guys, Ive lived on the South Shore of Mass. my whole life, and we owned a condo in Harwich, (Mid cape.) Id spend all my summers there, and yes it is a load of fun BUT.. if you ever plan on going to Nauset Beach, a VERY popular tourist area, or anyother popular beach for that matter, do NOT go in mid august!! There are greenheads (biting flies) that will litteraly swarm you and ruin the day at the beach. They don't seem to be bad at all during July, so that's when I would plan to visit the Cape. Just a heads up! more

Cape Cod - True Beauty 8/10/2005

I grew up on Cape Cod, and it truly is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. Now that Ive been away at College, I appreciate the Cape so much more, I wouldn't want to move any where else. Beaches on the outer Cape are breathtaking, with amazing views and plenty of opportunities to see seals. The beachs along the bay are my favorite, the water is always clear with no seaweed and warm water temperatures. Anyone is does't think that a Cape Cod beach doesn't belong on the U.S top ten list obviously doesn't understand true beauty. Oh, and no drinks and no snacks for kids, what are you talking about?!?!?! more

Cahoon Hollow Beach -- Not to Be Missed! 5/20/2005

Contrary to other reviews on here, I would like say that Cape Cod is spectacular -- and it is NOT freezing! The weather and water are delightful from June - September -- perhaps a shorter season than other beach spots -- but the drama and natural beauty of the sandy cliffs that Eastham and Wellfleet's beaches boast surely is worth the trip! You will not be disappointed with these outstanding beaches! more

Tsinatlanta, more like B.S.inatlanta 5/20/2005

The Florida Panhandle is cool...if you're a fan of tank tops and cut off jeans. Cape Cod is THE place for beaches, sans meatheads. Quite possibly the most beautiful place in the world because of the area's rich history and conservationist practices. Also, the landscape isn't riddled with tourist traps every 5 feet hawking everingthing from sunscreen to postcards of topless women with alligators. The water's too cold? Suck it up...or go to the bay. more

I agree with the first reviewers comments... This is not a beach, not a real beach it is a seashore... The Florida Panhandle has breath taking beaches, sugar white soft sand, there is plenty to do there but also is still very rustic. more

Most beatiful beaches 5/19/2005

Yeah, the water is cold on the oceanside. But the bayside water temps are pleasant and definitely swimmable in the summer. Te beaches on Cape Cod are absolutely gorgeous. I've been to the FL panhandle and those beaches are nice too. But IMO, they can't compare to the charm and beauty of beaches on the Cape Cod National Seashore. more

Water temperature is not the only important aspect of a great beach. Those who have spent any real time on the Cape Cod National Seashore know and appreciate its incredible value as a breathtaking, historic and ecoglogically important place. The wildlife is incredible, the body surfing can't be beat, and the towns surrounding the beaches are quaint and modern at the same time. This is a fantastic destination for people of all ages; it's certainly not just another boring Florida beach!! more

Cape Cod are wonderful family beaches! 5/19/2005

The Cape's beaches have alot to offer with the versitility of the ocean on one side, to 3 miles away where the bay is. The Oceanside does have cooler water, but it also has great surf. The bayside...however offers a GREAT place for families. Depending upon the tides depends on what you can do! The sand flats are great for kids to build sandcastles or wade in the pools of water, as parents can also relax. Kids AND adults can enjoy a game of wiffle ball, volleyball, or even claming while it is low. When its high, the water is like bath water, it is so warm!! Last but not least...if you have never seen a Cape Cod Sunset on the bay...you have never seen a Spectacular Sunset. There truly is no equal. I have been to St. Lucia, Hawaii, and Florida...and the sunsets by no means come anywhere close! more

Unspoiled 5/19/2005

From Chatham to Provincetown approximately 35 miles of unspoiled beauty with the quaintness of Cape Cod to boot. Pros: uncrowded Cons: bad parking more

cape cod beaches 5/19/2005

as a seasoned traveler, the beaches on cape cod are far superior to most in the states. the family friendly, laid back atmosphere is second to none. you dont feel rushed on the cape. its the best place on earth for families to reconnect and spend quality time without all hoopla. leave your cell phones, laptops, and video games at home and enjoy some family time. i love the chatham/eastham area. dont forget to try arnold's clam chowder. it's worth the trip from where i live here in ohio. haversham. more

Cape Code 5/19/2005

Cape Code is really amazing and unique place! Long sandy beaches. Gulf stream makes ocean really warm at summer time. Fresh air, no pollution, light ocean breeze. Really safe place, you can even leave your can unlocked. Campfire, active nightlife, lot's of sun and fun. I love this place. more

Beat the Crowd 5/19/2005

If you want to beat the traffic, crowds and price gouging then check out Rexhame Beach in Marshfield or Duxbury Beach in Duxbury. These beaches are just beautiful as the Cape with sand dunes, tall grasses, and soft sand. Both are located in upscale residential neighborhoods and aren't very well known by tourists. They're also closer to Boston. Having lived my whole life in Southern Massachusetts, I would prefer these beaches over traveling another 90 minutes to Cape Cod National Seashore. more

Old Cape Cod 5/19/2005

There is no place quite like Cape Cod. Steeped in history, pristine dunes and beaches, extraordinary cuisine, art galleries everywhere and of course Provincetown. This is the antithesis of Miami Beach, Cancun, etc. Provincetown dunes are rated the best in the world and this is the coast that inspired Norman Mailer, Eugene O'Neil and so many other artists who stayed in the Dune Shacks. It is not the best place for swimming, the ocean side is riddled with riptides and undercurrents and yes, the water is quite cold. But this is the place to see quintessential fishing villages, mingle with locals, and experience the best of the Atlantic. Shopping and partying in Provincetown are wonderful, but not for homophobes. Take a sunset cruise on and old schooner, ride horses through the dunes, and doesnt forget Ocean Drive in Truro, and Wellfleet and Wellfleet Harbor. Pros: Unique, Charming, Modest Cons: The Bridge, Traffic, The Bridge! more

I disagree 5/18/2005

I lived there, and belive me its so boring.... no drinks, no snacks for kids, no nothing to do..in summer we just seat at the hot sand and look at the cold wather , hot tip...Boca Raton-Florida :) more

TOP Ten - Cape Cod 5/11/2005

Top Ten beaches - Cape Cod. Are you kidding? The water is freezing cold there. This is the Atlantic Ocean in New England. It might warm up a little bit in the summer, but most of the year the air temperature is barely tolerable and the beaches are average. Try Florida Panhandle - sugar sand beaches, clear blue water, warm temperatures. Beaches mean Florida or Hawaii. more
