As groom for a wedding in 2004, I used the Ridges as a site for guests. I had at least five complaints from guests regarding dealings with the owner and his desk clerk. Complaints ranged from harassing phone calls related to check and credit card payments, and full charges for rooms cancelled long before the wedding.
In my own case, on the morning of the wedding, the owner harassed my wife to the point that she paid for a guest's room. This guest stayed elsewhere. Upon sending another guest to take this room, the guest was issued a new room and charged again. The management would give no refund of the $240 overcharge.
