Worst Rental Experience EVER 5/29/2007

If you want poor customer service, rude and disrespectful employees, racially motivated commentary and ultimately, horrid products - utilize the UHaul store on Appleton. If you'd prefer to keep your dignity and like to be treated like the paying customer that you are, then rent a truck somewhere else. \r \r The customer service I experienced was rude from the minute I pulled onto the lot to the minute I returned the truck. I was greeted, not with a friendly ""hello"", but instead with ""NO CARS ON THE LOT"". I wonder if the city knows that they are telling customers to park on the street. Then the clerk waited 10 minutes before greeting us with ""Got any singles?"" (Even if I did have some, I wouldn't have given them to her.) She then proceeded to leave the store and go across the street to get singles, leaving the store, cash register, and trucks unattended with 4 people in the store and no employees. Next, she refused to refund money to the customer in front of us and even threatened to call the police on him. When it was my turn, she said ""Either you want the truck or you don't. I don't have to give it to you."" Next, she didn't like how she was being treated, so she made a personal phone call in front of paying customers and complained about how she was being treated like trash. She even had the audacity to say, ""You've got to give respect to get some."" I was curious at what point she gave any respect. Outside, she nearly ran over my husband who was waiting for her to get the truck. In the meantime, her co-worker finally returned and she started complaining about how horrible everyone was to her. (Mind you, there was now a storefull of people waiting to get service.) The trucks were in poor shape and mileage was not recorded well. I urge you to be sure to take a picture of your mileage/odometer and gas gauge. There seems to be a discrepency from the time they write it down to the time it gets entered in the computer. If you're smart, go elsewhere. Pros: Close to street Cons: Horrible service more
