Great Place for Food & Live Music 1/20/2010

I have been a big fan of Paragon for many years - the food is consistently amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful, music is fresh and fun. In addition, Paragon always has exciting events for holidays and other celebrations, and has a great bar and overall atmosphere. What more could want with a fireplace and eye candy. Highly recommended! Pros: best live music & food around Cons: can get crowded on popular nights and loud more

Awesome happy hour, great crowd 4/29/2009

Went with a group and had a blast, good happy hour prices, fun atmosphere, good music, and some cuties, what more could you ask for in a local watering hole? Pros: Beauties and the beats more

lacking professionalism and ethics, i would have been taken advantge of had i not checked... 8/7/2008

watch your tab in this place. i and a group of about 12 had food and drinks and as the tab showed up we were told to simply put our initials next to what we were responsible for to include with our payment. i don't normally go over my tab but noticed mine was about 20% higher than it should be. the server explained that the tab was not covered entirely so she simply put the remaining balance on my card. never said a word to me about it. she now explained that this is just ""what they do."" the manager approached (a glorified bar tender) and made it clear he was only going to back his server. they were both speaking to me at once, which was a lot of fun for our group and anyone at an adjacent table. when i explained that this was the equivilent of fraud and theft, the guy actually asked me to not come back. i emailed the owner who responded with a canned ""there was confusion, we strive to offer excellent service"" i then asked him to explain what he understood the confusion to be as it was a blatant scenario to me. he never responded. i was refunded my entire tab, which i left the discrepancy as cash in a tip. it wasn't about the money, it was about being taken advantage of. i do business in the QA area, i will never entertain a client there. more

Great if you don't mind the crowds 1/31/2008

I went to Paragon on a Friday night with two friends for dinner and drinks. We got there towards the evening and it was absolutely packed but managed to find a table in the back. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful in her recommendations and the food was delicious. The only downside was the terrible cocktail I received and the loud/bad live music. Fortunately, our waitress was more than happy to have my cocktail remade to my satisfaction without any hassle. Paragon is a nice neighborhood place, but get there in the early evening if you want seating-- and maybe avoid the terrible live bands ;o). Pros: attentive waitstaff, nice ambience, good people watching, food Cons: parking, overly-crowded, bad live bands more

Good food, excellent service 8/7/2006

Went on Monday night, and sat at an outside table. The waiter did an excellent job of coursing our meal, and even split our entree without having to be asked. They had a lovely Stag's leap Cabernet by the glass, worth the $12.50 if you like good reds. I've had good food and good service consistently, but I avoid the place on Fridays and Saturdays. Pros: Good Food, good wine list more

If you live in Queen Anne, it's great. 2/18/2005

But beware, Queen Anne has a bit of a ""scene"" about itself. The food is good. The people watching can be great. The bands are generally not good. The guys hitting on girls in the bar, very bad. more

Comfy, Classy, and Casual 11/3/2004

We visited Paragon on a whim (drove by) and we definitely felt at home. Fireside booth, soft lighting, terrific bruschetta palette (will come back just for that) and great service. No live music while we were there, but the casual QA atmosphere and comfortable wooden booths (oxymoron?) were the best of PNW culture. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service more

ballgrl 9/3/2004

Shawn Speed is the awesome DJ and has provided some unbelievably S-I-C-K entertainment!! The food (especially the Calamari Salad) was first rate... thanks for such an incredible evening. The atmosphere cannot be BEAT and the swanky crowd was friendly and tanked! more

Casual good dinner/meat market nights 9/25/2002

I do understand why the reviews vary wildly; You will probably LOVE PARAGON if you understand WHEN to go for the experience that you are looking for. Paragon is a club by night, and a restaurant by day -- You REALLY HAVE TO BE AWARE/PLAN WHEN you go to eat there, or the eating experience will be ruined by the pick-up bar nature of the place that takes over.Translation: lunch is always OK, dinner without meat-market ends at 7 p.m. Sunday through Thurs., at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The second reason for some really bad reviews is inconsistent service. When it's bad, it means long waits for the food and some real attitude by the waitstaff that acts like it can't be bothered to help you out. The food is good and drinks are just fine. A must-do, at least once, for the people watching, for anyone in Seattle. Pros: people watching!, pretty good food, good wines/drinks Cons: pick ups/dining mix, inconsistent service more

A+ Food w/ Fabulous Servic 9/21/2002

I have never encountered such great service. The servers are incredibly nice and I can't say enough good words about the perfectly prepared, tasty food (brunch, lunch and dinner). I would recommmend the Paragon to anyone who wants great food and service for a very reasonable price. I give the Paragon an A+ in my books. Pros: Inexpensive, Great service, Excellent food Cons: smoking at 10pm more

Somewhere between good and bad 8/29/2002

Paragon is a dependable place. You will get the same quality food every time you go, which is good food. Service? That's another story. Sometimes it's great, other times it's like they couldn't care less that you showed up! If you are going out with friends, or a steady b/f or g/f, go to Paragon without hesitation. If you are trying to impress someone, think twice and still go, just be aware that they don't have customer service standards, so that you don't rave about it beforehand to the persons you want to impress and then look stupid because it didn't pan out. (potentially) Pros: steady Cons: rude/stupid staff more

Average 7/18/2002

My expectations may have been too high, I didn't know that Paragon was so casual. Service was OK, food took a little long (20-25 min) but it was good once it got there, and the prices are cheap. I think it's probably better at night when there is live music. more

Worst Service Ever 7/9/2002

Some friends and I visited the Paragon only to be very dissapointed. No hospitality whatsoever, and nothing but rudeness and an attitude from our server. They have decent food but service is definitely more important when it comes to a good restaurant. I highly reccommend NOT going here! Cons: horrible service, no hospitality more

Best known secret 6/12/2002

Located on the top of Queen Anne hill, the Paragon is a well know destination for locals and out of towners. There aren't too many places around it to go to so the Paragon is definetly a one stop shop. If you are looking for a fun, lively scene with fantastic food (there isn't anything on the menu I wouldn't recommend) great live music, a good place to meet people and the stiffest drinks around, the Paragon is the place. The Ceasar Salad, Mongolian Chicken and the Skirt Steak are the way to go along with any of their Martini specials for diner. I can't wait to return to Seattle and visit the Paragon again. Pros: Great Food, Great Atmoshere Cons: Meat Market more
