Jonathon, and Amanda wrote our experience with Pappy's almost exactly. Exact same problems with AC, and the generator, countless calls to Bruce with no response, and Misty making unfounded accusations, and is very unprofessional. more

I absolutely 100% echo Amanda's opinion and other negative feedbacks here regarding Pappy's RV Rentals as we have experienced same crappy customer service from Bruce and Misty:\r \r 1) Calls to Bruce during our trip were never returned despite leaving voicemails.\r 2) Generator was not functioning during the last 1 1/2 days of our trip, we were told that a button or switch on the generator itself fell off. The generator was behind a couple of panels on the side. We had no idea where it was or attempted to fix it ourselves. However, Misty was accusing us of tempering with it. She questioned us on how the button or switch fell off or has gone missing. I don't think popping loose by itself is a possibility in Misty's mind.\r 3) Despite our best effort to clean the RV before we returned back to them, we were charged extra $75 for the cleaning fee on top of the $125 we've already paid and charged. When questioning about the extra $75, we were told that the RV was returned in an extra filthy condition, ""the worst condition I have ever seen!"" in Misty's word. However, during my conversation with Bruce, he only told me that the carpet in the living area was in pristine condition and that it was dirty when we returned it. Luckily, we took pictures of the RV and one of them was actually on the carpet. We sent the picture in via email to dispute the charges and we did not hear back from anyone. I've placed a call and talked to Misty about the extra cleaning charges and she was just horrible.\r \r We will not ever rent another RV from this place again. Absolutely NOT, not even it's free.\r \r I have uploaded the picture to showcase the carpet in its ""pristine"" condition. Judge for yourselves. more

Terrible experience. Explained the size and amount of people on more than one occasion and also said I had a 31 foot before with slide out bunks that slept 10 and that was what I wanted. After being told I could get that and making the deposit and additional call to confirm the total rental had them telling me I would be getting one that sat ""6-8""...well how many is it, 6 or 8? At this point I am stuck with it.\r \r A/C broke the 1st day in 116 degree weather and since we were told no repairs above $100 without approval, we never were able to repair as Bruce never answered his phone and when he finally told us to replace it (our time, running around, and even having to climb on top and dismantle the A/C to find the brand and serial # for replacement) we were only in one place for 48 hours. After running around trying to find someone, we were told no one could find a unit and no one could install it as it was too close to a holiday. Annoyed at this point but thinking stuff happens, we spent the rest of the trip trying to get in touch with Bruce but he never answered.\r \r At pick up, keys were included for the gate as no one would be around when we returned (which at booking I was told it was being rented again so it couldn't be back any later than 11am). When returning there were actually two chains on the gate and we only had one key. Called Bruce again, no answer, we had to sit and wait as we were not sure what to do. We had people who had to catch flights so we finally left for the airport. When Bruce finally called back he wanted us to go back and try again. We said no and we would leave the RV at a hotel near the airport. He said someone would be on their way to pick it up and we shouldn't plan to be using it for the night. 3 of us had flights out the next day so we got a hotel room. When we left the next morning, the RV was still there. Now, we would have had to get a hotel room anyway but 1. if it didn't need to be back, we would have had plenty of time to clean it ourselves rather than pay, 2. since we had already been screwed out of our time and uncomfortable and sweating the entire trip, it would have been a good customer service gesture for Bruce to tell us we could use it for the night and save on the hotel since he had no intention of coming to get it. \r \r We have tried to call Bruce to discuss this about 10 times. Never once called back. Only rent from Pappy's if you want crappy rentals, inconvenience, poor service, and a damn good ignoring. And prices are no better than any of the actual reputable places. more

Where to start? 8/1/2011

I took in an older motorhome for a winterization special. They found some problems. They then spent the next year or so telling me every time I called that the coach would be next-in-line to get worked on. When I went in to see what the deal was for the third or fourth time, they gave me a $2,000 invoice for the work and said it was ready. When I got it home, the generator that they charged me to rebuild wouldn't start. I looked it over and could plainly see that all the nuts and bolts still had the factory paint on them. Nothing had been touched on the generator. I called and was told by the service manager that I was lying about the generator. I came in to talk to the owner, and while waiting asked the guys in the shop what would be involved in rebuilding my generator, and was told they didn't even make the parts to rebuild that model anymore. They would just replace it with a new one, because rebuilding it would be more expensive. This was confirmed by the owner's father, who was in the shop working on some stuff. When I presented this to the service manager, he totally freaked out on me and told me I was a liar. I couldn't believe how he acted. I was convinced something was seriously wrong with the situation. I called American Express--which I had used to pay for the 'service'--and told them my problem. They initiated a dispute inquiry to which Pappy's never replied, so I ended up getting my $2000 back. Thank you AMEX. I'm pretty sure they never responded to the dispute with American Express because they knew they never did the work they charged me for. And when I looked at the invoice more carefully, I realized they hadn't ordered or charged me for any generator parts, so how could they have rebuilt it? Oh, and when I finally did get my coach back, there were empty whiskey bottles and dead birds and cat feces in the rig. The service manager just said: ""we aren't responsible"" I think he summed it up perfectly. A plague on them. more

Great Work 10/1/2010

There was a recall on the brake calipers of my Workhorse chassis. My local dealer decided they couldn't do the repair so the next option was to take it to Pappy's. That's 25 plus miles away! When I called for an appointment the earliest was mid November. When I suggested I could drop it off and leave it they said bring it down. Took it on last Friday and said I needed it back within 10 days. Called this Friday and it was done. Had some other work done associated with the recall along with a few more mechanical things. The cost to me was reasonable. My opinion - great place for service! more

I say do not use them. 2/25/2009

Where do I start. In Sept. of 2008 we bought a motorhome from a private party. We took it out on a test run, tried to get to Vernal from SLC. Only made it part way, it kept dieing on us. Felt like a fuel problem. Being new to the motorhome I decided to take it to profesionals to fix the problem and to get it ready for travel. We are living in it and I wanted no problems. Cons: Charge to much for unneccesary stuff. more
