The Best Food In Provo 2/9/2010

My wife and I have eaten at Osaka's for years. My wife ""LOVES"" the pot stickers. And I love the sushi. Everything on the menu is outstanding. I would recommend spending a special date in the traditional rice paper rooms in the back. It is a blast. My little girl loves to be able to sit on the ground and eat. It is a great place for families. There prices are great as well. If you are thinking about going to Osaka's, just do it. They rock. Pros: Awesome environment and good service!!! Cons: English is the second language here, but that means its real more

Great Prices, Friendly People, Good Food 12/9/2008

I usually eat at Osaka once a week (almost always for lunch). I love the Udon and every entree I have tried I have enjoyed. I don't recomend the sushi but for the price it is pretty good (I am just willing to drop some big money for some really good sushi). The service is great, they know me and my lunch mates and usually know what we are going to order. It is a fun atmosphere and you won't find another restaurant in the area that has this quality of food and you can easily spend under $10. I recomend this to many of my coworkers and friends and everyone has been pleased. Pros: Great Prices more

service with a smile and very personable 3/5/2008

Don't care for sushi but Tonkatsu and Torikatsu is wonderful! The owner comes to the table and automatically knows what we want pointing at me and says Tonkatsu and my wife saying Torikatsu. The katsu sauce is what we like and as simple as the lettuce salad it, it is accented by the wonderful flavor of the sesame seed dressing. We even started getting a Christmas card from them every year. If I had a choice of a ""last meal"" it would be at Osaka. Pros: easy access, parking close Cons: bathrooms are in the hall often locked and no one has a key more

Awful management and fish not fresh. 2/10/2008

I tried to get them to fix an error on my well over $40 check in the amount of $4 and they refused. I ordered a side order as well as my meal and I received my side order but was not given all of my meal(I should note that this happened to EVERYONE at my table). When I received my check I pointed that out to our waitress and she said she was sorry and that she would have the side order(which was $2) removed to even it out then she came back and said that the manager would not let her do this. We then talked with another waiter who also said there was nothing he could do. I said you would think that the customers happiness would mean something and he said that there is new management and that he has had quit a few complaints since. Also, my friend ordered the salmon(she order's it everywhere) and said that it was very fishy tasting and she thinks it was not very fresh. more

The most peaceful spot in downtown Provo! Good prices, good food, nice people. 2/14/2007

This restaurant is so quiet and peaceful. The decor and lighting sets a very tranquil mood that can easily be called romantic if that is what you are after. We were served by a nice Japanese lady (presumably a wife of the chef and owner). They brought us both miso soup and salad at no extra charge, even though only one of us ordered a plate that came with them. I found the soup and salad to be good, but nothing exceptional. Pros: Ambience! Nice people! Great prices and value! Cons: Average food. more

YUMMY 7/8/2004

This place is so great! The service is always wonderful and I've never had to wait long. The portions aren't huge but they fill you up. Their salad and miso soup are delicious and most of the dishes come with both. The restaurant itself has a very peaceful Japanese feel to it. If you want meat or vegetarian they have the best of both. Pros: parking, great food, great service more

Osaka, more like Osucka 6/2/2004

I have waited for a long time for a good Japanese restaurant to come to the Layton area. After giving Osaka three tries, there customer service is poor, the food tastes alright, and the prices are outrageous. If you are looking for good Japanese food at a good price go to Salt Lake. Don't want to go to Salt Lake? Go to Ogden. If you don't want to go to either give them a chance, but bring your wallet because this place is pricey. Pros: Good Amosphere, Good Sushi, Barely adverage food Cons: , Slow, Expensive more

Pleasant Reflections 11/2/2002

I have been to Osaka many, many times and keep coming back because I love the atmosphere. The food is quite good for the price range, and the waitresses have always been very sweet and accomodating. My favorite thing is to call ahead to reserve a tatami room for added romance or simply to enjoy the privacy. Overall, I simply love coming here because it is always a pleasant evening! Pros: Cozy, Quiet, Inexpensive more
