Walk in and get in line (unless you are me and my friends who are the first ones there) and get ready to order. My traditional order– a chicken salad sandwich on french bread and french onion soup. The chicken salad has a hint of what I have always guess to be vinegar and is so finely purreed, you don’t have to worry about the strange chunks that you normally find in chicken salad. The french onion soup with the perfect amount of cheese, onions and the little crouton in the middle is the perfect starter to eliminate the anticipation of your sandwich arrival.\r
Feeling a little adventurous? Try a half and half (made this one up myself). What is a half and half you wonder? Let me tell you, its a half California- a smoked turkey breast sandwich with tomato, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, melted Swiss cheese and “special sauce” (thousand island) on the side and half a chicken salad sandwich. You better be feeling hungry for this one because its a big order, but definitely do-able. If you haven’t been to French House and live in Houston, you have not lived my friend. It is home to many fond food memories for me that I will never forget and always cherish.
