Gleason's is the best! 3/25/2010

I've been in the Crescent for over 15 years. Several years back I stopped going to Gleasons and got my hair cut when I traveled to NYC until Danae Reynolds took over ownership and then I went back to Gleasons. Danae cut my hair for years (gave the best neck massage) and when she moved she recommended Jamie. It was a great recommendation. Jamie cuts it just the way I like it. She's very professional and very good. A nice addition is that she is very pleasant to visit with... I must say the new owner Patrick has been great too! He really caters to the working professions in the downtown area. I would not go anywhere else! And to think I used to pay $250 for haircuts in NYC... Thanks Gleasons and thanks Patrick and Jamie!! P.s. get a shine from Jimmy ? he?s the best! Pros: Great haircuts, Friendly People, Professional Atmosphere Cons: My hair doesn't grow fast enough more

Former Stylist Gave Last 4 Bad Reviews 3/25/2010

The last 4 reviews were written by a stylist who is no longer working in this salon... Please proceed past these as they were posted out of anger and not a true reflection of the salon or the stylists who work at Gleason's. Just an attempt to hurt someone's business. It's very sad that everyone can't run and manage their own business. more

Unprofessional Atmosphere 3/16/2010

The current ownership has totally changed the atmosphere of the salon and not in a good way. Not uncommon to hear foul language by the stylists - this is not the same salon as in years past and will definitely be moving my business elsewhere. Going downhill 3/8/2010

Had Jamie cut and color my hair for the first time since my normal stylist was gone. It is the worst I have ever had in my life!! The color was extremely uneven and chunky and the style was several inches shorter than what I requested. I had to make another appointment immediately with my normal stylist; there's no way Jamie's going near my head ever again. Gleason's used to have style and prided itself on quality; guess that changes with owners too. Do NOT go here; you will severely regret it. Cons: Everything more

What happened to the Professional's??? 3/6/2010

I stopped by and found out that some of the top Professional people were gone!!!! What I found instead were loud, obnoxious, gabbing on their phones instead of paying attention to their clientele types!!! I will NOT be back to this salon!!!!!!!! Cons: EVERYTHING more

New Ownership, Most stylists have left. Horrible atmosphere 3/6/2010

Gleason's is under new ownership from what I understand. There are new stylists and a completely different atmosphere. The stylists seem much more interested in talking amongst each other or on their cell phones than dealing with their patrons. Very loud, unprofessional, zoolike atmosphere. Jamie did a great job with my highlights and haircut. She listened to me and did my highlights just like I asked. I have never seen anyone cut hair so fast - and she gave me such an awesome haircut. The salon is nice and clean and I will definitely go back to see Jamie! Pros: Great service, clean salon, professional Cons: Location difficult to find more

My experience here was great!!! I was so nervous to get my hair chopped off but Jamie completely eased my fears and did a fantastic job on my color AND cut!!! She was awesome!! Great price too! Cons: Hard to find in the Crescent. No one knew where it was. more

Greatest Highlight/Haircut in the DFW Area 12/10/2007

My family goes to Gleason's for haircuts & highlights. Jamie does a great job, I have 2 teenagers that wouldn't go anywhere else for haircuts. It's hard to find someone that does it all teenage haircuts, mens, women's and great highlights. But Gleason's has it all, you can also get a shoeshine and chair massage while you wait. BEST SALON EVER!!! 12/3/2007

Jamie has been coloring and cutting my hair for a couple of years now. I would never go anywhere else!! She always does exactly what I ask for!!! She is the only person that I have total faith in when it comes to my hair. I had been looking for a great stylist for years when I found JAMIE. I always get compliments on my hair style/cut /color. Which always make a girls day a little better! She is totally affordable and worth the drive to the city!!!! The whole 4 hour trip from Austin!! Everyone else in the salon are very friendly and I've never seen any ""bad hair"" walk out of the salon. The stylist have Excellent color knowledge, up to date with trends, a warm inviting environment, and excellent service from the minute you step in the door!!! I LOVE JAMIE at Gleason's Hair Design at The Crescent Hotel!! MY SALON 4 LIFE!!! 12/3/2007

If you want a salon with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly people then visit Gleason's Hair Design at The Crescent Hotel. After being unhappy for years with my hair and spending excessive amounts of money on the so-called ""top stylists""!! I bravely ventured out to try a new salon. I found Jamie Webb about three years ago. From the moment I sat down in Jamie's chair, I felt totally comfortable. She asked lots of questions to find out exactly what I wanted. She gave me a couple of different suggestions and worked inside my comfort level without trying to push anything too radical on me. I currently live in San Marcos and drive to Dallas to get Jamie to STYLE my hair.... I JUST DON""T LET ANYONE TOUCH MY HAIR!!! I trust her so much that I will let her do whatever she wants to my hair from the CUT to the COLOR!! She knows what is HIP AND NOW and what will work for the customer!!!! Best haircut and color 12/3/2007

Gleason's is a nice uptown place but they treat you very down home style. They all seem to just love the salon and customers. Jamie does an awesome job with hair cut / styles and out of the world color jobs. She is very professional and has a great sense of style and trends, you always look great when she's done with you!!!! She can even do a GREAT job on a Wiggly 3 year old lil boy !!!!!!!! My whole family goes to see her and I strongly recommend you and yours do too! Pros: great cuts and color job more

Best Salon in Dallas!! 12/3/2007

Danae has been cutting and and coloring my hair for as long as I can remember. Everywhere I go I am constantly asked, ""Who does your highlights?"" or ""Where did you get your cut?"" She and the other girls, Christine and Jamie, are the best around. Not only great hair stylists but great friends. I'm always entertained by the fun conversations going around. Though Gleasons is certainly not just for the ladies. The barber, Wynn, is there for all the mens needs. The straight razor shave is always a great gift for the man in your life! Throw in the addition of an on-site shoe shine expert and a relaxing chair massage, and you have the perfect salon. Go try them out, you won't be sorry!! Pros: Affordable prices/ Expert service more

Danae has been doing my hair for about 16 years and she is fabulous! She absolutely gives the best hair cut and color. Since becoming the owner of Gleasons she has made it the best hair salon in Uptown. I think you will become a ""regular"" if you give them a try..... Love this salon! 12/3/2007

I have been getting my hair done by Danae for several years now and I'm continuously getting comments on how great my color looks! When she has been booked, I have tried out some of the other girls and I am always happy when I leave. They are all amazing at what they do and I have recommended them to every one of my friends- even the guys (they have a barber!). The shop is so relaxed and everyone is so personable, and through the years I have come to know everyone that works there and I could never go anywhere else! more
