Best

I've have never been to Capps until recently. I used to hang out at the William Penn Tavern until the management changed hands. I had to follow my beloved bartender to his new job...

Worst

I sat at a table with 3 friends. We all ordered a domestic beer. 3 of the drinks were the same but we were charged 4 different prices. Any way you do the math we got cheated. ...

Cappy's fries are the best! 6/2/2009

Amazing wings,Flat pop, and poor Waitstaff 11/25/2008

Although I have problems with this place, I keep going back. Why? Their twice baked wings! So good!!! Only now I take them to go. Pros: Wings, atmosphere, Location Cons: Poor waitstaff, flat pop more

Best damn cheesesteak this side of the Mississippi 3/20/2008

Most bars in Shadyside cater to a younger crowd. This is the only bar that does it with style. I'm not a big fan of all that hoity-toity hooplah that Shadyside bars are known for. Cappy's is kickass because it's not afraid to be itself. Hell, i go there with my ex-wife and her kids during the day and my girlfriend at night, and she's 20 years younger than i am! Each finds it accomodating, delicious and a great place to just take in the neighborhood. Pros: Good brews, Good vibes, a good time Cons: No Budweiser on tap more

The epitome of Pittsburgh bars 3/19/2008

Never have I experienced such a shockingly splendid spectacle as I have at Cappy's Cafe. The lush, warm, inviting atmosphere pulled me right in as soon as I passed the threshold of the vestibule- the smell of fresh, hot, grease-free cooking. I was quickly served a heaping bowl full of delectable chicken tortilla soup. Initially, I was hesitant to try out the place, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially by the staff. The cooks were fast as lightning and equipped with a golden sense of humor that brightened up the place. After the soup, I had a med wrap, several Yuenglings, a Spring Salad, and a Devyn Delite- all fresh, crisp, and delicious. It wasn't the second-rate slavery that I'm used to seeing in such a small, bar-oriented kitchen. God bless those gentlemen! I hope they make more than 8 dollars an hour. Pros: Good lighting, quick service, well priced food, debonair cooks Cons: None that I can think of more

Best way to spend any amount they think you will pay 12/28/2007

I sat at a table with 3 friends. We all ordered a domestic beer. 3 of the drinks were the same but we were charged 4 different prices. Any way you do the math we got cheated. 4 customers not going back. Pros: Extremely small room forces your date to sit close to you. Cons: You will pay for what you are asking for and then be very disappointed with something else. more

WOW! 10/5/2002

This place has the hottest waitresses and the absolute coolest, most experienced bartenders in the city. It has a tropical yet iron city feel. more
