I also bought a DISH package through them. The installation, customer service, etc. was great... until I had to be reimbursed. See, you don't ""save $100"" (or whatever amount the special is). They give you coupons that you have to send in to be reimbursed in $10 increments. That is a total PITA, trust me. You have to send a copy of your bill and the coupon. How much is your time, the envelope, the copy, the stamp worth to you? I did it the first month, and got my $10 check. Then I sent in the second coupon/bill. They SENT IT BACK TO ME BECAUSE IT WASN'T A FULL MONTH BETWEEN THE FIRST COUPON AND THE SECOND! How far was it off? Four days. So I resubmitted it (an additional stamp/envelope). Got my check. Then I said ""forget sending it in every month,"" collected a few months, then sent in a group of coupons/statements. They sent the whole thing back to me saying ""one per month."" So, as you see, it IS a scam. They ARE hoping that you don't adhere to the super-strict guidelines they have for you to receive the special. My story is not made up. Last time I looked, ""Save $100"" means save $100, not ""save $100, in increments of $10, in a timetable we determine, at a cost of about $.50 and your time... oh, and don't forget... if you DO forget, say bye-bye to your savings."" If you have nothing better to do than babysit a coupon for $9.50, then by all means. However, I am too busy for such games, and will never shop there again because of their unethical practices. more

These guys are total Scammers. Do not believe a word they say. We have been through the worst aggravation trying to get our monthly $10 refund check. We will not give up calling them about it because we won't give them what they want--which is for us to just give up and let them keep the money they had already promised. I do not understand how this business can be so deceitful and still stay in business. If there are any good reviews on this site it is only because they posted them themselves. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Order your utilities directly from the provider. more

I had dish installed in dec 2010 after communicating with Tom twice before deciding.? I was told it would be $24.99 per month for one year with a two year sign up. After only two months my rate was increased. I have tried calling and I am referred back to Tom who does not return my calls. To say the least their sales and advertising practices are deceptive and they will say anything to get the sale before they bait and switch. I wish I would have read these reviews before doing business with Laketon as their track record here shows a very high percent of bad reviews! ?? more

I was in the process of building a new house and I was shopping around for all my appliences. I heard about Laketon TV through friends who have had a great experience. I figured what the heck and I went up and talk to Gary and Tom and got prices on all my appliences. Supprising being a family owned store, they were cheaper than the big name stores. Plus they were able to deliver the appliences right away. I ended up buying all my appliences from them. I was impressed and to top it off, the delivery guys were very carefull and professional delivering everything into the new house. I bought a Maytag Stove, Frig, dishwasher, and microwave, along with a new Samsung flat screen. Then, I'm planning on going to get Satalitte TV off them too. more

My poor Moms refrigerator quit working Friday night before Memorial day weekend. So I seen LAKETON TV ad in the trib so I called them Saturday morning at 930 the owner was so nice I told him what size refrigerator my mom had. He gave me a great price on a 21cuft whirlpool and can u believe it he delivered it the same day free and took the old one away. I have been on Comcast for 15 years NO MORE it seems like every year our price went up and we lost channels. So I seen a LAKETON TV ad in the post gazette $19.99 a month for 1 year. I went over to Laketon TV and talked to Tom one of the owners. I wanted to find out what is my price going to be after the first year. Tom went over how many TV's I had and what channels I had on comcast and to my surprise the every day price was only $40 with HD and for the first year I will only be paying $19.99 a month so I signed up. 1 week later Mike the installer for LAKETON showed up went over where I could have the dish installed and in about 2 hours had every thing up and running FOR FREE with a GREAT picture. two weeks later I got my first bill was for two month $42.40. Like every one else when looking for a washer and dryer I went every where to find the best price almost bought it at home depot till my friend told me to call LAKETON TV where she bought her stove.So in my car I went and to my surprise got my MAYTAG washer and dryer delivered,installed and the old ones hauled away for $75 less then any where I looked. I asked Tom the sales person how can you sell less then the big box stores? he told me they belong to BRAND-SOURCE which is a buying group that most of the independent retailers belong to. First, look at their delivery truck, says FREE DELIVERLY, but they charge for it. Made several purchases over the years and though giving the local business a boost other than shopping at the big box stores. Well I was wrong, Gary could care less after the sale is made. Hard to get in touch with, delivery men are rude and complain when asked to move a delivered item. I purchased would I though was a new appliance and when delivered it was used. Gary could care less and could not pprovide any answer other than just looking mad. If the purcahser was your 80 year old mother she would have been duped. I recently won a refrigerator from Laketon from the KDKA Online Auction. I paid for the refrigerator based on an ad (the ad shows a picture of a stainless refrigerator and states ""Stainless Steel color-coordinated metal handles"". I called to arrange pickup and was told the ""guy in charge of that"" would call back. hours later, I get a call from a 'guy' who didn't identify himself, but tells me I can get the fridge in white or black. I explained that the picture showed a satinless refrigerator and said ""Stainless steel color-coordinated handles"" and he said ""then call KDKA"". WTF wlse does that mean to a consumer?? Pros: NONE! You cannot cancel or return despite what the sales person advises you. Repeatedly lied to about the location of the tv, arrival date, and when asked to cancel order advised all sales final (on receipt), but was verbally told could be returned, etc. I will NEVER shop there again and didn't check them out until after this happened so now I'm stuck with a tv I don't want from a disreputable business. more

Order one TV Set, get an older model. After being told, that was not what I was promised, get told, that is what is on your slip - no returns. When I tell them I wanted the other one, even though it is more expensive. I am told they dont have it - but I can have the display model. more

The absolute worst. I signed up for Direct TV then was not able to have it installed because my landlord did not approve. When I told the salesman at LakeTV he screamed if you are cancelling the installation you will be charged $300. I went to the store and talked with the salesperson to ask if the charge was from Direct TV or them. He said it was through LakeTV, you signed it so too bad we are still charging you $300.00. This was from Laketon not DirectTV. He kept saying ""see the contract, see the contract.."" Very rude and basically kept saying too bad. I will NEVER shop there again. These people are crooks so don't deal with them. Buy your satellite TV elsewhere. I was lied to when we went into their store to sign up for dish network and now they are tryiing to rip us off. You are better off going elsewhere. more
