Best Hair Care Professional in Town 2/10/2009

I have been going to Jamie for about a year. My hair has never been so beautiful and manageable. She did not style the cut, she cut the style. I still get compliments from strangers six weeks after my haircut appointment, when I am due for my next cut. Until Jamie, I always pulled my hair back into a ponytail. My cut is so easy to take care of, I haven't worn a ponytail since I first sat in her chair. Jamie applies my relaxers and waxes my eyebrows. She is always pleasant and professional. I don't think I have ever seen her in a bad mood. She does an excellent job on my hard to relax hair. It has never been so healthy and my ends are no longer prone to split. The only spa service I receive is the eyebrow waxing. It's never pleasant, but Jamie does a great job. She is experienced and amazing. During my regular cut and style appointment, I am in and out in around a half an hour. I always look and feel wonderful leaving the shop. Until I found Jamie I didn't have the time or energy for a haircare routine, now I can't see how I managed without one. You can't put a price on beauty, but just know that the price is right. I have referred all of my family, friends and anyone who stops me on the street. Pros: Jamie is a beautiful person and a wonderful stylist. She respects a lunch hour. Cons: Jamie's appointments fill up quickly more

One of the best relaxers of my life 2/9/2009

I also recently read the comment about Jamie at Philip Pelusi and I strongly disagree. First let me say that I have been going to Philip Pelusi for almost 14 years and Jamie is not my stylist, but I would gladly recommend her to anyone who wants a great relaxer. Currently my stylist is Bethany, who I love, but in October 2007 I had an appointment for a relaxer with Bethany on the morning I was going on vacation to Arizona for a week. When I arrived for my appointment, I was informed that Bethany was sick and would not be in. I had just missed the phone call from the salon because I left the house early to get coffee. I guess the look of complete shock, disappointment and fear (I really needed a relaxer done and could not wait two weeks to get one) was all over my face because Jamie came up and said she would work me into her schedule, if I did not mind sitting a little longer than normal. Since I was about to cry I thought this was a great idea, better than me buying a box and doing it myself. Even though I was not the complete focus of her time, Jamie was very attentive, explained the process she was doing and why (including the finger smoothing) and honestly it was one of the best relaxers I have every had done in my life. I feel I need to say that Bethany does a great job also. more

I love Philip Pelusi 2/5/2009

I saw the comment on Jamie and I would like to tell you my story about her!! I've heard about Philip Pelusi from a friend and she told me I had to see Jamie, So I came to the salon and there she was she short well dressed in a trendy way and big curly hair and a beautiful smile. She said hello welcome to Philip Pelusi I'm Jamie and I will be your stylist, and I was hooked and spoiled from that moment on. Jamie is very professional, and polite she makes me feel at home and she consuls with me every time I sit in her chair. Jamie also consults with me and breaks down any products or services I may need. Shes far from a dummy she also breaks down what chemical services will be best for me and why and when. Jamie has done several relaxers on my hair and I have never had breakage or problems Jamie never leaves my side when she does relaxers on my hair, she also explained why she prefers to use her fingers to smooth other then a comb because she can see and feel the texture as it straightens and is more gentle on the hair for her to use her hands. Jamie also does my colors and waxes, she has never waxed my eyes without my promission she has never hurt me either. Jamies chair is always fill she just recieved a award for the highest cliental. I have try to squeeze in when Im free, because I'm so busy. Jamie will come in early for me and stay late for me she has also given up her lunch break to squeeze in a color service for me.I have been going to Jamie for three years and she is the only person who can touch me hair. I love her cuts they grow out beautifully so I can change up my style with Jamie and I don't have to get a relaxer every month. Jamie always has me on cloud nine when I leave the salon. The best part about Jamie is she can get me in for an wash and style and out in 30 mins!! So please DON'T GO TO JAMIE!! I want my spot in her chair! Pros: the salon is open evenings and its right downtown Cons: shes always busy, when I try to make last min appointments more

I have a mullet 11/26/2008

I did not like this place at all. I went in for a trim and left with a mullet! It is terrible. When I called to let them know i was not satisfied, they wanted me to come back so they could look at it. I didn't want ANY of them touching my hair again. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for the quality you get. AWFUL DO NOT GO HERE!!!! more

Terrible! Very unprofessional staff... DON'T GO HERE! 2/1/2007

This was a terrible salon experience. I had my hair relaxed by Jaime. First of all, I found the Philip Pelusi brand relaxer to be awful...it leaves hair rough, dry, and NOT STRAIGHT. The finished product was made worse by the fact that Jaime simply separated my hair into quarters and used her hands to smooth my hair. This is the technique that is recommended by do-it-at-home box relaxers you can buy at Sally Beauty Supplies or Walmart, not the technique of a professional salon. Cons: Inexperienced staff, sub-par products, and RUDE more
