Great Place to live 12/7/2011

Located across from Southwest Community Center and Gabriel Park and close to medical offices and Laughing Planet Cafe. Great pool which is kept quite warm and was open until almost October. Helpful and friendly manager. Living quarters are quite large and we have lived with a family of 4 for over 1.5 years quite comfortably. It could use some updated cabinets in the kitchen but that would be my only con, Otherwise a quiet, safe place. more

Park Village and Doug 1/11/2011

I've lived at Park Village in 2 different units for going on 2 years. I lived in a two bedroom with a roommate and currently a one bedroom. The location is awesome, less than 10 minutes to I-5 or PSU! Both apartments are HUGE with tons of storage. I haven't had any plumbing or electrical issues, nor have I seen rules going unenforced. As far as I've seen, the police have been called to one unit one time in the past two years. Also, as far as plumbing goes, I live on the top floor but I heard a pipe burst and effected some downstairs units. As far as I know this issue was fixed. Doug was at the property well after his hours working along with a plumber to have the issue fixed right away. I haven't had any issues with maintenance at all. My experience has been all positive. Noah was not so great at getting around to issues and Doug has been the best. Not sure why people are giving him a bad rap on here. more

The best thing I can say about this place is that it's located right across the street from a Plaid Pantry, where I can buy copious amounts of beer to drown my sorrow over all the crazy things that are wrong with this place. Sure, from the outside, it seems rather quiet and unassuming. But then, don't all apartment buildings? First off, the plumbing is not so great. Toilets back up all too often. Water is frequently brown. You have to run the faucet for a full minute to clear it out. Exterior lighting is always burning out and frequently dark. I looked up code violations online and there are a few for this place. I'm surprised there weren't more. I guess people don't bother to report them, they just leave when their lease is up. And yeah, people are always leaving. As a result, there are several units available as I write this, not that I'd recommend you take one! To top it all off, the new property manager is also the head maintenance guy! Yep! He does all the work on the units. He has ""fixed"" several things in my apartment. His work is so bad that I have stopped asking him to ""fix"" things because it's usually worse off after he's done. Steer clear unless you want more headache in your life. If you do decide to rent here, look me up and we can drink together. :) more
