Stay Away from Serious Juggling.\r \r Serious Juggling charged $150- to my credit card in July 2013. It is now March 2014. I have received nothing, and when I have called, email or texted to request update or politely complain,\r I have received weeks of no response, followed by rude, profane and abusive communications by the woman.\r \r I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau (they have an F rating) and they never responded. Worst of all was the woman actually calling my cell on two different occasions to scream at me for politely complaining. \r \r I am now going to file a complaint with State's Attorney of Oregon.\r \r Serious Juggling does not deserve to be in business.\r \r I gave them several opportunities over a period of several months to either\r send me something or refund my money, but clearly they will do neither.\r \r I am a professional entertainer and a 30-year member of the International Juggler's Association. Never have I been treated so abusively verbally by anybody in any company. And for no reason except politely checking in on my order every few weeks.\r \r The lady basically bullied all other customers into submission.\r \r Serious Juggling does not deserve to be in business at all.\r \r Stay Away. more

WORST EXPERIENCE YOU CAN IMAGINE!!! AVOID THIS STORE. I ordered a seat for my unicycle. I called and pestered BEN for a month and still not seat. The worst part is need to give him your credit card number. So, now he has my card number and does not call or email me back. I finally cancelled the card for safety. more

Worst store business. Online/phone orders fulfilled only after a month and with multiple phone calls. The recommended product, breaks within first week, and after another call this appears to be a known issue. (With recommended product???) more

Worst customer service EVER! Something 4/12/2012

Worst customer service EVER! Something must have happened recently because the good reviews for this place are older. The most current review (2012) is bad, as is mine. New management, maybe? Not sure, but this lady was SO rude. We ordered over a week ago and still haven't gotten it (we just live in No. Cal). Our first order ""never went through""... did anyone call us to tell us...??? NO! We got tired of waiting and called them. Then they told us the order never went through. Unless you want to dish out money for rude service and no product, go somewhere else!!!! more

in short this is a TERRIBLE 1/16/2012

in short this is a TERRIBLE business. The first time I visited the store it was a complete mess, excusable considering they made it known they had just moved to the new location. The owners were not really helpful and I wasn't too impressed with what they were selling. I was hoping that they would have poi parts or other manipulation toys on par with what I usually purchase online. Unfortunately they had nothing less of cheap shoddy crap at inflated prices. The owners had NO idea what they were talking about when I asked them questions about the products they were selling. I decided to give it a second go a few months later, yet it was a complete waste of time. The shop was still an unorganized mess. The only difference this time around was how outlandishly ruder the owners were. Not only did they not know their own products but they knew nothing about the market they were selling to, and once again were EXTREMELY RUDE. They products they sell are cheap and DANGEROUS. Many of the interments at their store, specifically fire toys, will break easily and are unsafe for use. more

Feeding the Dream 5/12/2011

My son just started riding a Unicycle about a month before his birthday. I don't know much about unicycles. We purchased an old unicycle for him to learn on from a friend who had one in a closet taking up space. The seat it came with it was basically a whole roll of duct tape wound around tube socks. Despite this hindrance and the seat being to tall, my young son learned to freemount, ride and didn't give up. So for his birthday he asked for a new seat. I went online and ordered from his wishlist at Serious Juggling. I ordered and then after the fact opened a live chat line for a question. Not only did I get full attention, I received advice, a suggestion, rides we could join, a phone call, and a special trip to the post office so I could have the order as soon as possible. The order arrived with seat and post custom fit, assembled, and in great condition in the next mornings mail. I live about an hour from the shop, so I know not everyone can get an order that fast, but I also suspect it meant a special trip to the post office to get it here. If I could post the audio of my sons sequels of delight when it arrived, I would. My son is in the front yard riding away right now. Ben was patient and of the utmost help. He went out of his way to feed this dream for my son. I will be doing business here again as we upgrade this starter unicycle. It was a pleasure doing business here, and supporting our local business climate. This was a 'Customer Service' model of what all business should strive for. more

6 weeks to ship a helmet - then charged a restocking fee!! 4/6/2011

I ordered a bike helmet from Serious Juggling on 2/22/11. I received no email confirmation but instead a phone call indicating that Ben would need to go to the distributor ""within the next couple of days"" to pick up the helmet. I waited patiently for the product but after several weeks started calling around to companies in the area to determine who held my order. Since I received no confirmation, no email, or no communication I had no identification on who the order was placed with. I just received a shipping confirmation for the helmet yesterday - 4/5/11 - nearly 6 weeks after the initial order! I requested this be immediately canceled and explained the issues that had occurred - delay in shipping, no correspondence, and a lack of notification in status. Instead of being apologetic, Ben indicated that I'd be charged an 8% ""restocking fee"" even though the product was never shipped! I would avoid ordering any products from this company - a 6 week lag in shipment with no contact is unacceptable. more

Co-owner (i.e. the wife) was very rude. 7/18/2010

My family has purchased several unicycles from Serious Juggling in the past, and the husband co-owner has always been nice, but the wife has always seemed somewhat harsh. But today my family came in to buy a forth unicycle and the wife/co-owner was VERY rude. So much so that my family and I had to leave (including my 4 and 10 year olds). This is not how to run a buisness. more

My first time is also my last time 6/7/2010

My roommate is a new juggler, and she has visited this shop more then once, buying lots of items each time. Today, we made a trip there. The store is on the small side and there we're a few people right inside the door way. My roommate at this point went in alone bcause she knew what to get. She was then semi rudely ask to leave the store and wait for the customers to leave, she did so without question. A few minutes later a customer left and even before we had a chance to see if the coast was clear, the employee stormed out in a rage to being yelling at us! In the end she told us she would close the store so we couldn't shop there! I have never witnessed such bad customer service in all my life. Look online for what you need before you even attempt serious juggling! more

A Serious Review for Serious Juggling 10/6/2009

I have been shopping at Serious Juggling since before there was a storefront, and I have always received prompt service, and expert advice. Friendly, helpful, available (phone, storefront, website, online chat) - all this, and local, too. This business is the textbook definition of ""doing it right"". I look forward to my next prop purchase at Serious Juggling. Pros: Local; friendly; knowledgeable; expert more

Great juggling shop! 10/5/2009

Serious Juggling is a great shop. The owners rock and are super knowledgeable. They are totally willing to help out a new juggler. They have a good selection of balls and clubs. They have always been very willing to help me find what I want and provide expert advice. I've got a number of great things there including some really nice clubs. A great local store, support them! Pros: Great owners, great service, good selection more

They know their juggling! 10/5/2009

I was looking at the customer post titled ""unprofessional"", and can't imagine anything remotely close. I have been shopping at Serious Juggling on a regular basis for the past 5 years, and much of the equipment I own has come from them. They don't just carry juggling equipment, they juggle themselves and test the products they sell. In addition to their store in Portland, they regularly set up shop at regional and national juggling conventions, where they get even more feedback on their products. Beyond that, Ben has also been active on the competitive scene, judging ""numbers juggling"" competitions. I'm a hack in comparison, but they've never made me feel that way. They've always explained their products in terms I could understand, and helped me out with advice in areas I was trying to improve. They are utmost professionals. Best jugging store ever... Pros: Deep knowledge, great selection, great service Cons: No ""Seattle Branch"" more

The nicest people on earth, like, ever 10/5/2009

Serious Juggling has changed a lot in the last 15 years, from a basement business to a beloved storefront. Throughout all of it, though, the owner, Ben, has been unfailingly generous, knowledgeable, and kind. For one thing, he takes particular interest in his customers as individuals, and many of his customers have been fans for years. He gets swamped at juggling festivals; if you stand next to his table long enough, it'll start to seem like he knows just about everybody. Along with this, he isn't judgmental about the beginners and is just as likely to help and guide them as he is to be able to provide the professional jugglers their props. So, props to Serious Juggling. Pros: friendly, remarkably knowledgeable more

Unprofessional 10/5/2009

My husband and I went to this store and had the worst experience. Yes, they have a selection if you don't mind the excessive rudeness from the owners wife/co-owner. From the moment we walked in the store the owners were arguing. She proceeded to degrade her husband/co-owner right in front of us, in the presence of also who I think was their son. She interrupted my husband and I having a private conversation about a product we were viewing and became very irate when asked about a factory flaw in one of the items, not to mention product and pricing discrepancies from what was on their website to what was actually in the store. This was the worst case of unprofessionalism I have seen in a long time. Serious Juggling has A SERIOUS Attitude! Pros: local Cons: does not work well with customers more

Great unicycle shop in Portland- 1/16/2009

The folks at serious juggling are super nice and very accomodating. I bought a uni from them a few weeks back. I got a Torker LX 26""- They have that one and a bunch more for less than any other shop or website I could find. They will also cut the seatpost to height for you at the shop. more

Great juggling store 1/20/2008

The owners of this store are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to give great service. Three things are apparent as soon as you walk in to their new location on NE 37th (just north of the little jog that you make to get to the entrance to I-84 east): (1) A novice is as welcome as an expert juggler or unicyclist; (2) They want to provide you with great service; and (3) You'll never feel like you're being pressured to buy anything. It's the kind of business where you come out wishing that you could spend more money just to support their business. If they don't have something in stock, they're willing to order it. If they do have it in stock they'll explain how to use it, let you test it, etc. This place is one of those local businesses that's a real gem and you hope will be around forever. more

Best Juggling Stuff at the Best Prices 12/8/2006

Serious Juggling has great prices on a wide range of equipment - you can find beginner through professional grade juggling (and unicycling) equipment at prices lower than you can get anywhere else. The owners are friendly and helpful - they know a ton about the equipment and will be happy to get you started. Whether you would like to learn the basics or you are an experienced juggler you will find something wonderful at Serious Juggling. Pros: Great prices, great variety Cons: Hard to find more
