don't overnight a gift certificate on line 3/23/2011

On March 22, 2011, I rush ordered a gift certificate for a wedding shower to take place on March 24, to be overnighted. The cost was $20.00!!!! But being from out of town, it was worth it. I called today to see where the gift certificate was since it had not been delivered. Pam in accounts casually answered ""the rush sheet was not printed so it wasn't sent. I'll refund your $20"". That's it. NO apology, NO attempt at a solution to my problem now. Then when I became upset she called ME rude. Needless to say I will not be doing business with this company ever again. more

very amateur 2/26/2009

Very amateur spa experience where a few modifications (well, actually a complete facelift of the facilities too) would go a long way. Examples: walmart brand liquid soap in the bathroom in the locker room (what the heck? at a spa?), single toilet in the locker room and one teeny mirror for all women to share. Services themselves were OK, but the therapists/manicurists were inappropriate in their choice of language and talked nonstop during the treatments. Check in and check-out were miserable with a long line of women waiting in a queue (I could feel my previously relaxed neck tighten as I waited). The building is very interesting and historic but my 70 year old mother had some trouble navigating all of the many stairs. The sauna facilities smelled like sewage! Spa slippers are all stretched out and of dubious cleanliness, so I would bring my own next time (if there is one). When I called to book the services I was taken aback at the rudeness of the receptionists and was put on hold 3 times to make the appointments. \r \r Good things: the spa lunch was delicious (don't get the sparkling wine though). Actual quality of services was not bad. more

false accusations 4/24/2008

Unfortunately I had an oppertunity to review a letter that was very upsetting to me, about myself. As I was refered to as the heavy set lady, Brigitte. It was implied that I had talked poorly about the management at Marios International Spa in Fairlawn. In addition to the remark, it was said that I suggested to a client that she should go and look into another spa down the street. Not only am I employed by Marios International, I am also a very devoted person to this company! While taking in the false accusations given by the writer, I found the need to respond on my behalf: My experience here at Marios International has been and STILL is very pleasurable! I enjoy working in an environment that is very respectful and professional. I am very proud to be a part of this renowned establishment, here at Marios International Spa. I as a person of belief would never imply such a horrible remark!! Brigitte-Fairlawn. more

Really bad attitude 3/18/2008

Went to Mario's in Fairlawn for a facial. I had a heavy set lady Bridgett, all she did was talk about how bad the managers were, and even suggested that I should go and look into another spa down the street? everyone else seemed very nice and polite. The managers were very helpful and thoughtful, I will continue to go to Mario's but I will not use Bridgett ever again.. Maybe she should go down the street and work for the other place?\r Deana Pros: I've used there services before and was very pleased Cons: One negative person will make you hesitate about using the place again more

Schedule your Spa Time Elsewhere 6/11/2006

This place is in MAJOR need of an overhaul now. The decor is starkly white on white/black with no pictures on the wall. There were exposed pipes. Even the bathroom seemed grimy. The whole set up is insanely akward and while getting my facial, as I looked up at the ceiling all I could see was peeling paint. Uuuggh. \r \r I was looking forward to my special experience, the robe, the pampering and etc. and found an assembly line process with very outdated facilities. The women who provided my services were very nice and aminable, but I was taken aback after being asked to change back into my clothes for my pedicure. A part of my experience was to sit in the terry cloth robe for my pedicure. \r \r When I first arrived they had no record of my appointment and could not figure it out. I know I called the right one because I got confirmation of the address when I called. This was not first time this happened to me. I had my first experience with Mario's about six years ago and thought for sure they had may some changes since then. I also remember the eve of my wedding coming with my bridal party and they had no record of our appointment. I tend to be very organized and know exactly which one I called and was sure to get all the information correct. You have to schedule each of your services, so how did I get the times? They were quick to accomodate me, but you would figure a place like this would make confirmation calls the night before. \r \r I was not at all impressed and will not go back again. Another note, the facial was not extensive at all and my pedicurist did not understand that she was very rough with my baby toe after telling her many times that my skin will break if you are to rough. Pros: Very nice technicians Cons: Could not figure out where to park from the inters more

Past its Prime 4/27/2006

The experience at Mario's was pathetic. They would not honor their special for the weekend, had no knowledge of the reservation and the staff was in a constant state of confusion. The decor was frightful and the service average. more
