I?m from south central PA and my family & I enjoy a good barbeque every now & then. To me a barbeque should be meat that?s been slow smoked/cooked over an open pit with rich sweet tangy tomatoe (sometimes spicy) barbeque sauce worth sinking your teeth into. If this is what you?re looking for, save yourself your time & money and go somewhere else. There?s got to be a better place than this. In July of 2004 my family & I took a vacation to Lake George, NY. It was during a rainy summer that year so the highlight of the trip was centered on indoor sights & restaurants. Unfortunately we picked Tired John?s Barbeque as one of the restaurants. It was a Friday night and we went for the ?All you can eat BBQ? special. The atmosphere was like the inside of an old cabin with a screened in porch. The selection wasn?t all that great. My wife & I agree that this food tasted like it was sitting out all day. The meat was very dry & tough. The sauce was not tangy nor was it sweet and rather greasy. One round with this food was enough. This was a bad experience for us that unfortunately we won?t forget. I feel sorry for their regular customers if they think this is the way BBQ is suppose to taste ? they need to expand their horizons! But there?s good news, there are better restaurants in the Lake George area.
Pros: The place is along the main road that follows the Lake George shoreline.
Cons: The food flavor & texture is poor.
