Sole'

I received a voucher from Travelzoo as a present to eat at this restaurant. We called ahead of time because the voucher said we had to come after 9pm on Saturday and when we spoke to the person who was on the phone, she said don't worry come on in and we will get you seated even if it's early. We arrived a 7pm and waited until 8:30 to be seated! When we sat down and a waitress approached us (8:40pm) we presented the voucher and she said we could not use it because of the 9pm rule. She had the manager speak to us and when we explained what the person on the phone said when we called, he did not care. I explained that we are 20 minutes away from 9pm can he just honor this because of the miscommunication. His answer was No and he expected us to pay for everything and use the voucher another time. Now mind you we already spent money at the bar for drinks and we did not have anything to eat yet after waiting for 1 hour and 40 minutes. When we got up to leave the manager tried to take the voucher from us and we snatched it right out of his hands. This was the worst restaurant experience ever and we would never recommend this place to eat at and the service was awful and embarrassing. more

This used to be our family's favorite place to eat and would have gotten 5 stars without a doubt. It is amazing how the lack of friendly service could change all that. The food is amazing but the woman who was our matradee showed such a lack of friendliness and service it was very disappointing to say the least. We had a booked a party of 30 people and paid enough to have a matradee that could at least pretend that she wanted to be there. Multiple guests came up to us after the event telling us that while the food was good, the service was terrible and how rude the matradee or waitress was to them. I experienced the same thing when ordering our food as well as, when asking for something different that they regularly serve for the person who's party it was for, the matradee gave us such a hard time, then when she brought the food out slammed on the table in front of us. a few of us also never received coffee at the end when it was ordered. We paid extra for beer, wine and soda... none of our guests even knew that the beer and wine was even an option. Sadly there are 30 people that will never go back to Sole. The Bus boys I have to say worked very hard the matradee/waitress could learn from them. more

Sole is one of the best tasting places in south shore long island. The fried calamari, the veal chop, and the duck are making my mouth water as we speak. But you should know, this place is not for the health conscious (or for the time conscious as waits average 40 minutes+ during dinner hours) more

I'm not a fan of Italian food but this restaurant makes a convert out of you. The place is small and a bit crowed but the food is great. The chicken and eggplant parmesan are excellent. The best Italian restaurant in Long Island. more

BLAND FOOD AND BAD ATTITUDE. The Maitre d' will not BREAK a smile when u enter. The ambiance is out-dated and you are seated right on top of your neighboring table. When I checked my checking statement the next morning they had billed me twice. I called immediately to resolved the situation but the manager was completely dismissive and would not cooperate. He told me i had to fax him my statement and that he wouldn't be able to help me until he got around to it bc he was busy. (this was a sunday morning). They still have not called me back hours later. So I called them and the manager once again had a bad attitude. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK AGAIN. ZERO STARS! BAD BUSINESS ETHICS & CONDESCENDING ATTITUDES more

This restaurant was excellent the food and the service was a true 10. I would definately recommend this place to others- go there have a great time and eat a lot you will never walk out of there hungry or dissatisified! more
