I lived in this apartment for several years, during which time it was sold to Ormonde Managment (they also go by Carnegie or Lincoln something or another.) The building, which was never in great shape, took a definitive turn for the worse and stayed that way. The hallway was under permanent construction for more than 2 years...and I assume still is. The elevators were constantly out of order and the gym equipment was constantly broken. I finally moved out even though I loved the location as the management was renting out apartments on a weekly basis to a series of unsavory characters. I also heard that another resident found a homeless person living in the stairwell. I tried to discuss these problems with Ormonde, but found them very unresponsive. I think their strategy must be to trade on the good location and hope that no one is the wiser until the leases are signed. It is a real shame that Ormonde is not being a better steward of their business.
