Last time I was at The Triad was probably 4 years ago...I went to see a friend's band this weekend, and WOW !!! Not only did they rock, but The Triad has made some awesome changes...

NO DARLINGS - NO ! This Dive is SOOooo BAD ! 9/22/2007

BAD SERVICE & OVER PRICED ! Used to be a Pretty Hip Venue - Where Did it All Go Wrong - What Happened ? Pros: Close to the Subway Cons: BUT - Not Close Enough :( more

Martinis are strong 9/26/2004

I went to see a friend of a friend's comedy act on Saturday night and had a great time. Be careful of the martinis though. VERY STRONG. Great venue though. Good lighting and initimate seating. Pros: Good lighting, Strong drinks, Great acts more

What about a Pepsi? 9/24/2004

I've never had a $6 Coke before! Funny, will all that ice, it tastes worse than the $1 Cokes I usually get everywhere else in the entire world. The performers put on a pretty entertaining show, but the service, well - I can see why they make the gratuity mandatory ... of my own free will, I usually prefer not to use my hard earned money to thank people for an unenjoyable experience. Pros: Good entertainment Cons: , Overpriced drinks more

Saw 'Who Killed Woody Allen?' this weekend and enjoyed the show so much, I almost pee'd my pants! Putting the show on at The Triad Theatre was a great idea - It's a nice change to see a show while sitting at a table with drinks at hand! The waiters were really friendly and made the night even better! Pros: A+++ Shows, A+++ Staff, A+++ Enjoyment more

Xcellent :) 12/25/2002

A great place for live music. I went to see one show, but stayed for the next one, & enjoyed both. I looked up 'Triad' on Citysearch before I went, & wasn't sure what to expect because of another review I'd read, but forget that one - This place is A+++ I joined their e-mail list - I'm going again ! Pros: A+ Live Music, Convenient Location, Drinks & Service Cons: None I could find :) more

great rock band preformed 11/29/02 12/1/2002

The Triad was a very cool cabaret club. Hard to spot if you are not looking at the building numbers. The performers were great. I saw a jazzy band first with a wonderful old jazz groove to them. The last act was a Latin/ English rock band named Bandera. The band wowed the crowd with about 10 songs. The lead singer was hot sexy Latin female named Yesenia, which rocked the crowd with her strong sexy sensual voice. The guitarist and base were amazing with each song. The drummer animal and percussionist were so in tune it seems like this band has been rocking crowds for years. I would recommend you see this band next time they perform at the Triad 12/26/02. more

What an improvement !!! 11/21/2002

Last time I was at The Triad was probably 4 years ago...I went to see a friend's band this weekend, and WOW !!! Not only did they rock, but The Triad has made some awesome changes...The room's got a really cool feel to it, which added to the vibe, and the waitress was great (I didn't mind getting the 2 drinks min.) Whoever's responsible for the turn-around: "Good Job !" more

awesome variety of shows 11/21/2002

I have seen many shows at the Triad and always find it a great venue to see live performances. The drink prices are reasonable and the space is much larger and more comfortable than the other music venues and cabaret spaces. The night I was there Julia Stiles and friends were hanging out listening to some band. Pros: Great Shows, Awesome Acoustics, Comfortable more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Far from the maddening crowd of midtown, this venue offers an eclectic schedule of performances seven nights a week. Downstairs, round tables and chairs seat 50 for cabaret, comedy and jazz/blues acts. Late arrivals often find themselves standing at the front bar area where sight lines are still good and the two-drink-minimum is waived. Upstairs, the off-Broadway space has amiable table service for 112 orchestra seats; the mezzanine seats 38 with rows of straight-backed cushioned metal chairs. The light/sound tech upgrade makes the Triad more friendly to acoustic musicians, but plays are still this joint's bread and butter.

    The Draw
Management screens all talent through demos and references. Both spaces have played host to one-night-only and long runs of solo shows, sketch/improv, stand-up showcases and plays. The friendly bar staff contributes to the space's casual vibe.
