I had an extremely negative experience working with Segallis Real Estate (and have the supporting documentation to prove it): from them 'losing' a $3200.00 check (which i later found out they cashed) to omitting material terms from a lease agreement (the fact that the landlord sought to have rent paid to third parties and the tenant to cover various sublet fees!), to contacting me repeatedly about money my landlord owed them (thinking that I was going to cover it!) ..some curious communication issues: saying that they did not receive my lease renewal, however, when I told them it was sent certified, it ?appeared,? and when I sent a complaint via an email address that we had used for prior communication, the agent ?couldn?t read it;? I subsequently sent the complaint again using the same e-mail address and CC-ed the agent?s manager, and all of a sudden she could read! .....to ultimately showing my apartment without notice!!!!\r
I voluntarily relocated to another apartment unit in the building just to get rid of them and landlord?s questionable payment practices, handling the new lease arrangement myself! ..... I will never ever use a broker again thanks to them! \r
If you do opt to use Segallis Real Estate, take my advice and keep a paper trail, try to keep as much communication in writing as possible (they like to discuss things over the phone), and send things certified!
