Seegars Fence Co.

Seegars does not stand by their work and they have poor customer service. When we initially had our fence installed they busted a water line and refused to take responsiblity and wanted to send their staff home w/o finishing the job. This is really bad for a company to do this. We called them recently and wanted to get some repairs done on the fence and the refused to come out. I will never recommed this company to anyone....bad bad service. They should not even be in business because there is no customer loyalty at all. I really suggest that you find another fencing co. WARNING DO NOT USE SEEGARS! more

We had a fence installed on a rental property we own. The fence panels have blown out on numerous occassions, the post caps have also blown ""away."" We've pretty much done our own repairs because we knew it would be done right. There is a large gap between the door latch and the fence post and also sags meaning we have to ""pick up"" the door in order for it to latch. Buyer beware...expensive and the installation was of poor quality. more

We live in Northern Virginia where we have had serveral fence projects installed in the last few years. We have a family home in South Hill, Virginia that we wanted to have a privacy fence installed. I could not find anyone from the local area that could do the project within the time spand we wanted it to be completed. We found Seegars Fence online. I drew out the project and emailed them Seegars. They bid the fence that was within my estimate. Jake Spataro came out the day before installation and walked off the project with me. Contacted Seegars as well as two other large fence companies in Raleigh for a small job. Seegars' price was 15% lower than the other two. They built the fence on time and the workmanship was great. No complaints. Pros: First to return my call for an estimate, lowest price, great workmanship Cons: None. more

The price does not warrant the customer service or workmanship. After the fence was installed, I had about 18 boards which were cracked or chewed up. It took about 6 calls before I was able to talk to someone. I mentioned to the rep how many boards I had and marked each one. Nobody called to say when they were coming. They missed about 4 boards and needed to come back. After 2 months boards started to warp and the gate was having problems closing. The latch wasn't lining up anymore. Barry Nesbit stopped by and I showed him the gate and the boards. They do not replace warped boards, but will leave the numbers of boards I need to replace myself. He didn't have his tolls and needed to come back to fix the gate. He fixed the gate, which lasted a week, and never left any boards. I left about 12 more messages asking if they were dropping off the boards and to fix the gate again. I haven't heard back after a year. Meanwhile, I fixed the gate myself two more times and still having the same issues. I would not recommend them at all. The worst service ever!!! Pros: Able to do the crappy work in a couple weeks of scheduling the job. Cons: Pricey ... Bad workmanship ... They take your money and don't care how bad of a job they do. more

We had seegars give us a quote and felt that their prices were mostly in line with other companies. They were very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. We decided in the end that we were not going to be able to afford a fence. We see their fences all over the place and they obviously build quite a few around the area. We hope to be able to save up and maybe afford one soon. more

We called Seegars and the price they gave us was outRAGEOUS. We could have had TWO fences built for the price they told us. They were late coming to do the estimate and said they had a several week waiting list. Im not sure who would want to wait for them to build their fence, since the amount they wanted to build it ONLY MAY have been reasonable if we were really desperate. NO THANKS. more

Very disappointed in this company. Originally given a start date of 2 weeks. They were a month behind that schedule when they actually got started. We were told it would be a 2-3 day job. A week later they were still fixing mistakes on our fence. Our fence is improperly spaced and they've had to come back twice to fix issues with the gate. When we called to complain, it is very difficult to get anyone to call us back. Save yourself a lot of frustration and use another company! Cons: customer service more
