We had a reservation for 6 on a Wednesday night at 6:30. One of the ladies in our party had an emergency and was late arriving (7:10). They were not particularly busy so we waited until she arrived to order. Our waiter, Richard, was obviously angry about this. He was short and very rude the entire evening. The lady that arrived late had already looked at the menu online and knew what she wanted to order so we were able to order right away. Our food took well over 30 minutes to come out. Once it was delivered, Richard did not ask how it was or ask if we needed anything for the rest of the evening. He did, however, come by and refill our waters a few times.
Our dishes sat in front of us long after we finished, but since it was a ""Ladies Night Out"" we didn't mind chatting while we waited for dessert or the checks. We were never offered dessert and after about an hour of waiting, we finally asked the hostess if she could get our checks. We then waited another half-hour or so before they were picked up. After having to ask the hostess again to take our checks, Richard came out to wait on the table beside us. He proceeded to complain to this table about us being late for our reservation and now we were being impatient with him. We didn't walk out of there until 9:30!
I complained to the owner on the way out and he was very apologetic. Too little, too late though... I and the rest of my party will not return.
The only reason I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1 is because I believe it had great potential. The atmosphere was great and most of the dishes sounded delicious. I ordered the linguini and it was okay... would've been much better with fresh-grated parmesan but Richard didn't offer and never came back so that I could ask for it. The owner was very nice and I am usually very supportive of small, family-owned establishments. There are just too many other great restaurants in the area to waste a night out here again.
Cons: Service, expensive
