We knew the minute we attended the informational meeting one evening that Wellspring was the right adoption agency for us. They are very professional and polished. They know the business and can navigate you through any type of situation. We adopted both of our children from Wellspring, and throughout both situations, the communication was constant and very open. We felt very comfortable with our adoptive parent counselor, and was thrilled to have the chance to work with her again during our second adoption. Our first adoption was completely closed, but our second adoption we have the benefit of having an open relationship with our birth mother. We know the quality of our relationship with our birth mother is largely due to the work of the team at Wellspring. We really appreciated the adoptive parent support groups and the educational sessions/panels we attended. We met many other adoptive parents through the agency and they are some of our best friends today. We definitely felt the adoptive parent / birth parent panel discussions to be the most interesting and meaningful. Based on our experiences with Wellspring, we highly recommend anyone considering adoption to meet with them and discuss available adoption options. The minute I walked into the office I was welcomed with open arms. My birth counselor was there to answer all of my questions and also questions from the birth father and the rest of the family members. I never felt there was a question that wasnt going to be answered. Not only was my counselor supportive but everyone else in the office was as well. No one was shy to get to know me and help me meet my needs. My counselor got to know me on a personal level as well to help me place with the right family for my child. It has been almost three years now and I am still in contact with my birth counselor! I know she and everyone in the office will be there for me always! I would recommend this agency to anyone. The customer service lacked all the way around for both sides in our adoption. Phone calls weren't returned in a timely manner. The social workers did not follow through with their job duties creating some less than desired moments and surprises. We were very disappointed with the lack of support for both birthmothers and adoptive parents. I am thankful that we disregarded some advice and kept working on our relationship with our birthmother and her family. We now have a wonderful, beautiful, open relationship. I would have to say that I think they were only concerned about getting their money. We will not be using them for our second adoption. In my person dealings with Wellspring Adoption Agency the Birth Parent counselor treated birth mother with no respect or dignity. There interest is in the adoptive family welfare not the welfare of the birth mother during or after placement. There were not resourceful and were unable to help in situation of extreme duress to place. They made promises of birth mother support groups which they did not provide or they did not exist. more
