I drive to Maine just for this.... 4/23/2010

You may drive by and see a line - and I know in the summertime its hot, people are impatient... but there is a reason there is a line and that is because the food is amazing, and honestly worth the wait. Bring a book - consider it an extension of your vacation - or try it on an off hour. Breakfast anytime is their slogan, but you must try their infamous Seafood Chowder. Their corn bread is delicious!! I also love their Lobster Casserole - its easy and all the work is done for you, and absolutely amazing. And try to save room for a slice of pie. Pros: no frills dining, delicious Cons: wait time - though its worth it more

Great Food 11/29/2008

This diner is one of the best I've eaten at. Normally you have to wait for a table but it is worth the wait. The waiters are helpful and friendly and it is reasonably priced. more

GREAT FOOD 9/23/2008

A little diner with Big flavor the Maine diner has the best Lobster Pie I have ever had! They also serve a seafood chowder that is beyond compare. It is a very casual setting and the service is great. Prices are very reasonable! You Have to try this place! more

Great home cooked food 2/28/2008

You will always get some good home cooked food with good portions at a good price here. They always have great choices for their daily specials. My favorite is the corned beef and cabbage.\r They do get very busy & crowded at meal times and I would recommend to go earlier. If you do have to wait, they do have a gift shop to browse through or go through their menu since there is so many food choices to select from.\r The service is really good. Those waitress have to be the hardest working women in the business. They are friendly and they are fast. more

dining 11/18/2007

Whatever you want, they have it. The diner has a huge selection on their menu. The hot lobster sandwich is great and they have the best corn muffin. It is an old diner and has not changed in years. It is always crowded. We hit the diner every summer. more

the MAine Diner 4/19/2007

Don't believe the hype!! We have eaten here several times over the last several years and it gets worse each time. The food has always been sub par but the last 3 times our food was overcooked, cold, or just plain disgusting. The servers are inattentive. I dropped my fork and the waitress looked right at it and walked away. Hello, customer service? I actually had to get up and ask someone for another, and she acted like it was the most inconvenient thing she had to do! Not only are you packed in like sardines, literally sitting on top of the people next to you, but having another waitresses' rear end in my face while she chatted with the table next to us as we tried to eat our dinner was the worst. This place is completely classless, the Phantom Gourmet is a buffoon, and if this is the food their grandma used to make, I'm glad I didn't grow up in that family. I'd rather eat dirt!! Pros: bathroom was clean Cons: Everything more

Large Menu - Great lobster pie 3/10/2007

Great food, great service 7/17/2005

We love going to the beach on the weekends, and often stop here for a meal. The food is great, the service is great, the portion sizes are great. You can get an awesome breakfast here at any time of the day, or get some great seafood. The only downfall to the Maine Diner is their success over the years. If you get there at a peak time, expect a wait! If you don't mind eating at an off time (like lunch between 2-3PM), it is well worth the stop. more
