First of all, there was no menu handed to us when we arrived, so we were verbally told the menu with no prices. We ordered grilled scallops and crab cakes, nothing fancy, and the total on the bill came to $70!!! For two people! Now we're willing to spend $70 on a nice meal, but this was a hole in the wall place, with music from a radio that was skipping, a TV placed too high to watch the Olympics- the atmosphere wasn't at all attractive, the service wasn't great, and the food was at best mediocre.
I agree with the previous reviewer- check the bill! We had a 20% gratuity added to our bill without our permission or knowledge. We were charged $18 PER CRAB CAKE- we ordered 2, and they weren't Baltimore's best, as the owner told us and as Baltimore magazine might have told them- they were merely salted crab meat with mustard mixed in. I was unimpressed.
Keep in mind that sides are not included in the price of the dishes. We ordered steamed broccoli and green beans, and were charged $2.75 for each. While that may seem reasonable, keep in mind that they were tiny portions, and the green beans were previously frozen and cooked in butter with garlic powder on them.
Also, it took us over 30 minutes to receive our lunch, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Based on the quality of the food, the ridiculously high prices and the long wait, we won't ever go back and we certainly hope you learn from our mistake!
I gave it one star because I cannot give zero stars. It was that bad.
