I wish I had seen these reviews before ordering. on October 16 2011 I ordered 4 items for my husband for Christmas. Plenty of time, eh! Firstly, the confirmation of order e-mail does not detail the items ordered and the confirmation of order web page I saved has an error on it and cannot be reallced.
I can't remember the exact time frame but i gave them at least a month before i started chasing. As others have experienced, they do not respond to e-mails, their 1-800 number is constantly busy and when you do get through on their regular number you can be left on hold for a very long time.
In the end, I was left in a state of high anxiety with less than 2 weeks to go before Christmas when two of my items had still not been received. Did I cancel and go look for something else? And of the two items I had received they arrived weeks apart.
Finally, all of the items did arrive in time for Christmas but one of the items did not fit. on December 28 2011 I mailed back 5 items to 5 different retailers. All except Big Men acknowledged receipt of the returned goods. Within a few days, 3 of the retailers had refunded to my credit card. The fourth gave me a gift certificate as I wanted an exchange.
As I type this, January 23 2012, I have still not heard from Big Men. They received the returned items on December 30 2011. I called. No empathy. How busy they are. Well, aren't the other retailers? Their policy states that a return will be made in 30 days and I am 7 days away from that! AND, I was told, there would be no notification that the refund had been processed. I would have to keep checking my credit card statement. And the problem with not having a detailed confirmation e-mail is that I have had to laboriously go through their website to find the items I ordered to ensure that the refund is for the correct amount.
Unless you are after an exercise in frustration do not buy from this website.
