First off, the address on this site is wrong. This restaurant has moved to the French Quarter at 321 N. Peters St. This is a wonderful restaurant that I have recently discovered located in the French Quarter. I have never had a bad dish there. The scallops and the duck are probably my favorite. But then there are also the sweetbreads and the duck confit salad. It is obvious from the first bite that this chef loves what he does. The atmosphere is great for any occasion. I have been there with a large group and also for a quiet dinner with my wife. While it is in the Quarter, it is also perfectly tucked away on the first floor of an historic hotel with a private patio (available for dining) and pool. I think the majority of patrons are locals. Another thing I like is that it is a nice change of pace from the standard New Orleans dishes served at most other French Quarter establishments. Iris is the kind of restaurant that would be the new hot, place-to-be in New York or many larger cities, but in many ways is one-of-a-kind here in New Orleans. The service was excellent -- never in your face but always there and very knowledgeable about all the food and wine. Also, the bartender there is some kind of wizard, constantly inventing new delicious cocktails.
Pros: The Food and Service
Cons: They won't let you live there
