Capt Bob's Picnic Sail

I was appalled and speechless as we drove over the mountain far from the tourist life. The lush green mountains took my breath away. The boat wasn't the nicest boat I've seen, but I enjoyed the aloha spirit we received from the inviting crew. The tour was simple and the scenery was amazing. It was a very family oriented. I loved the food and entertainment. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the captain with the tattoos. He was very unsanitary and not so bright, however, this tour would have not been possible without those beautiful ladies. They coordinated and organized everything. I have been on Capt Bob's picnic sail with my husband and family about 10 times. Great hosts, wonderful picnic, and super service. The entertainment alone is worth the price to be toted around fed and entertained nearly all day. The ocean is clean and clear. Fish are plentiful. The reef is clean and beautiful! Though they do give plenty of warning about walking on the reef, there are a ""few"" people who can't seem to get the hang of NOT stepping on the coral. I think it's a very few though. They stress many times to be careful and NOT walk on the coral. As for Octopi, I have seen them catch them...after all in Hawaii, it's supper! It's by far the best shallow snorkel experience. Great for families because of the glass bottom boat! I have never been disappointed. Pros: they pick you up and drop you off.....total entertainment the whole time Cons: can't think of any! This is a must do! more

This couldve been a great trip, despite the highly ""touristy"" feel. Kaneohe Bay was beautiful with great patch reefs and we visited the best. However, their unaware passengers were allowed to walk all over the coral and be generally abusive. This was not the passengers fault as the operator shouldve told them that was super uncool. One the crew dove down at one point and brought up an octopus for people to see. This was kinda OK, it was cool to see it, but then he put it down on the deck and wouldnt let it back in the water. Many people were upset as the octopus kept trying to escape, but he would kick it away from the edge at the last minute. It seemed cruel and passengers were offering to pay the crew member to let it free (he said he wanted to eat it). Bids got up to $100 as the octupus was ""gasping for air"" but he would not put it back in. The captain was nonchalant about it. Too bad as although the setting for the trip, the glass bottom, guitar playing and the other amenities were very nice, you just didnt walk away feeling good about the trip - the reef walking alone was cause for that.
