I had heard that Ida Mae and Joe's had good home-made country cookin'. Feeling kind of homesick and missing my Grandmother's cooking, I decided to try it. The diner is a renovated gas station, which could be cool but it just seemed kind of dirty. I ordered fried chicken, mashed potatoes, turnip greens and cornbread. The chicken was a little bland. The potatoes and cornbread were good. The turnips had paper in them. I showed the waitress and she said, Oh, that's just the wrapping from the can, you want some more? I politely said, No, thank you and I have not been back.
