A cozy cottage it is but the food is below average. We had the pigs in a blanket and the country breakfast. Biscuit and gravy was okay but everything else was a waste of our time and money. The pancakes tasted like they were made from Bisquick mix and the sausage seemed like it was cooked in the microwave. The coffee was weak and the waitress not only made us wait for our check but cleaned three tables, gave two other tables their change, and took an order before we got up to personally deliver our check to be paid. Apparently the bran pancakes are great...so if you choose to go, get those. Otherwise, highly unrecommended, stay home and make breakfast, you'll be glad that you didn't have to pay for it!!! I've driven by this tiny little restaurant on Downing many times and decided to go and eat there this morning. It is fantastic! The setting is intimate and the owner is lovely and friendly. We got the breakfast burrito and pancakes and they were both excellent. I have to say I have searched high and low for good pancakes, and these were amazing! The banana bran pancakes with walnuts, blueberries and strawberries are a secret recipe of the owners that she developed in the 60's, and they are absolutely incredible. And then, to top off the wonderful experience, they give you freshly baked cookies with the check. Who could ask for anything more in a breakfast place?! Absolutely wonderful! They also do lunch and fish and chips - I will definitely be back to try those too! Pros: Warm, friendly atmosphere, Great value more
