I have just recently returned to coin collecting and I wandered in to Modesto Stamp and Coin. When I entered the store, I was completely mesmerized by the shear number of things offered for sale. The owner was busy helping another person, whom I soon learned was a long time customer, I thought what a great chance to see how this man is treated by the owner. I listened for a while and I must say I was impressed. The owner expressed his appreciation for the customers loyalty and he paid him a premium for an item the customer had for sale. The two finished their business and it was my turn. I asked to see several items some of which were not easy for the owner to get to. He patiently retrieved every single one and as he did, he gave me the price of each one. I was very impressed when the owner offered additional suggestions for items I was looking for that were actually much better and sometimes less money than what I was after. I stayed in the store visiting, browsing and gathering items for purchase for quite some time. In fact when I left it was well after the 5 PM closing time. Not once was I rushed or reminded that the store closed at 5. I not only enjoyed my visit, but I also feel that I truly got my moneys worth with the things I purchased. If you are looking for variety when it comes to coins and collectibles and if you want to know that your business is appreciated, I encourage you to visit this store. You will not be disappointed. As for me, I am excited about my new find and I cannot wait to go back for more coins and another visit with my new friend!
Pros: Huge selection-Friemdly Owner, Great prices
Cons: Don't expect Macys or Bloomingdales- this is an honest to goodness old school treasure store
