The food tasted like dirty water and was terrible, and the service wasn't great either, they did not know directions on how to get here and took an hour when they said it would take 30 minutes. The fact they charge 10 dollars more to go oakland which is literally down the street is ridiculous. more

Great Path See-ew 7/19/2006

Lotus is one of my favorite restaurants on Piedmont Avenue. All the dishes that I've tried have been good, if not great. I always get Vegetarian Delight appetizer. I agree with the other review in that the service is sometimes lacking. Nothing specific, but it kind of feels like the waitresses are just phoning it in. The floor seating is unusual, but not necessarily in a bad way. It can be fun but if you're a little tired then it can be hard getting up and down. more

Good Food, Bad Waitresses 6/15/2005

The food is tasty. I am never disappointed by what I order. However, with the exception of the owner and the only male server that works at this restaurant, the waitstaff is unfriendly and downright rude. If they would reorganize their employee list (ie cut loose the dead weight) this place would recieve an A rating from me. Pros: Good Food, Fun decor Cons: Bad Service more

Great food 7/16/2004

I have been here twice. Both times I was very pleased with the food. The only thing about the food that I could see improvement in was the size of the serving. It was pretty small for how much is cost. There is usually a wait, and usually the service isn't very friendly or fast, but the food is great Pros: Great food Cons: , small servings, unfriendly service more
