This was my first time visiting a tailor. After the initial fitting and discussing my needs \r
(which were, incidentally, some minor work on a formal gown) a was then told to \r
return in 2 weeks for pick-up. 2 weeks later, excited to see the work, i phoned from \r
downstairs, only to find that the work was being hastily done while i waited at the door.\r
It wasn't quite right, so again, 2 weeks later, i was back.\r
and again, the work was not quite right. It took a total of 5 weeks and 4 visits for \r
one minor alteration. It wouldn't be that bad, except that when you're expecting to \r
bring home a large dress bag, it means that public transportation is out, so downtown \r
parking is required. over and over and over.\r
\r
While i was there, the tailor seemed to be working mainly on men's suits, which all \r
appeared to be of good quality. I'd try Andreas Gorges Tailoring again for men's clothing, but i wouldn't recommend returning for women's clothing alterations, despite the description of ""specializing \r
in vintage restoration and repair"".
Pros: the staff is very nice
Cons: tailor didn't write down specifics on alteration, and got it wrong. no parking. no doorbell
