Into Video

This place is a few blocks from my house and great for last minute rentals because it's open until 1am and movies aren't due until 8pm. I also have Netflix, but this place has a great selection of horror movies, new releases, and movies you didn't even realize you were always looking for. The people who work there are always willing to offer up some ideas of a movie the customer might like and just generally good people. Also check out their collection of great shirts in the window. the previous review is BS... I used to work at this store many moons ago and I managed to compound $50.00 in late fees anyway (on "EMPIRE OF THE SUN" for chrissake - I was young and impetuous - and so was Christian Bale yummy! what can I say) but, I paid it happily - this is a small local business owned by an SF native trying to keep his business open in an age where people can keep a movie for the rest of their lives (if they so choose) by ordering online from NetFlix... I'll be going to INTO forever... and if you rent often enough and are nice most of the staff will erase most or all of your late fee(s) anyway if the movie is only a day or so late... so support small local stores like INTO - and good luck trying to rent "BARE BEHIND BARS" (a true early eighties classic, by the way) at BLOCKBUSTED (yeah, I went there, I said it, and what?) Pros: everything - and it's across the street from my house Cons: not enough new releases to go around - what're ya gonna, do ya know? more

be very aware of their standard late fees ($3.50/day/video) which are just completely outrageous. they make blockbuster look like a saint. though I will say they were very generous in reducing ours from $75 to $65. I could have purchased the videos for much less than that. they were happy to point out that the fees have been in place for a long time and are clearly posted. you'd think a video store with such limited selection would go a little more out of their way in the customer service department. I'm logging my better business bureau complaint right after this post. management - please enjoy that $65 because it's going to cost you much more than that!
