In my honest opinion, the windows made by Renaissance Doors & Windows and its affiliate are easthetically beautiful. However, the overall workmanship is mediocre. The price is somewhat steep. I bought my windows and a french door almost 7 years ago and was happy at that time. Time passed I noticed that the boards they installed on the outside of the windows are just high end corkboards. They started to warp and showed deterioration. When I checked with the company's customer service, the work is no longer covered with warranty. It was a big disappointment that you paid twice as much as the vinyl material and it only cover around 3 years on material and workmanship. Now I am stuck. The wood has showed deterioration specially when they are exposed to direct sunlight. The wood joints started to separate. If I were to re-evaluate which kind of windows to install as far as longevity, I would prefer the vinyl. I have installed vinyl windows on some windows in my home and they last longer than wood. Wood windows looked nice but they don't last that long compared to vinyl. Vinyl is still presentable and comparable to wood windows. Lesson learned? will not advise the wood windows with Renaissance. The wood trimmings outside of the window frame is not wood but a corkboard.
