My 3 kids and I went there this afternoon - against my better judgment. We've been there a couple of times before and the food has been mediocre, at best.
My 2 younger had the buffet and my older son and I each had an entree with a buffet side. We had each visited the buffet and just as our entrees were delivered, my daughter tells me she saw a brown bug crawling into the soup spoon container and then back out and along the wall.
I went to check it out, but my daughter said she had told the manager and the manager had taken care of it. I approached the manager, Elli, but she claimed she never saw anything.
I questioned my daughter several times and there is just no way it was anything but a roach. The manager said she was sorry, but she didn't see anything and there was nothing she could do.
The server was great. She didn't seem very surprised that they had roaches and neither did the manager. The server was very apologetic and tried to make things right, but she didn't have the authority.
I asked for the name & # of the regional mgr, but Elli gave me the store #. When I called and got Elli again, she told me to call the # at the bottom of the receipt. After calling 2 # and leaving messages (neither # identified where I was calling), a man called me back and identified himself as the owner.
He didn't seemed surprised about the roaches either, but said after he got my message, he immediately called his pest control company. Guess he keeps one on retainer.
He went on to say that "these things happen" and was surprised I wasn't grateful when he offered me 2 complimentary salad bar coupons.
Let's see, I wasted $45 of my hard earned $ for a disgusting experience that left us unable to eat our entrees and he expects me to be happy to come back because he is going to offer me 2 free salad bars.
Ummmm, NO THANK YOU!!!! I'd much rather go somewhere that I'm appreciated as a customer and someplace that will do whatever is necessary to compensate me for the $45, the horrible experience, and the waste of an afternoon. I could have understood it a little better if he would have offered us 4 salad bars - although we had ordered 2 entrees in addition to the 4 salad bars.
It was so disappointing. I will NEVER go back there and I will certainly tell everyone I know the same thing!
Pros: Judy the server was very good.
Cons: Cockroaches, mediocre food ambivalent mgmt, uncaring owner
