Awful GM (Raymond) with the worst CS ever 8/21/2011

Raymond (GM at this store) I hope you read this because you totally suck as a GM and as a person. I am not one to do this (actually never wrote a negative review on the internet) but this was easily the worst showing of customer service I have ever seen in my life. I consider myself a nice, calm guy, who usually goes with the flow and never lose my temper. A little background: I bought a touchpad 16gb as a birthday present for my brother online and ordered it for in store pickup at this store. One day passed and did not hear anything about the status of my order so I called since my credit card was charged the full price ($434). Apparently they liquidated the item (I paid $434) that morning and did not know what to do about my order. The lady on the phone (who was very friendly and understanding to me) said that she had one more left from a customer who did not pick up their item that morning. She said she would put that one on hold so I could make the 30 minute drive to the store. I politely thanked her and took the commute down to the TO best buy. I arrived at that best buy and was greeted by a nice kid working customer service who took sympathy to my case. He said he would get the manager and see what they could do. This is when Raymond came along, the GM of the store, walking up to me the last thing he wanted to do was talk to me. The first thing he said, without me even uttering a word is ""there is nothing I can do, they are sold out"". I told him of my ordeal and he simply said ""that sucks"" and continued to say he couldn't do anything about it. Not once did he ever say the word ""i'm sorry"" or even care to check their stock . I told him one of his employees said they held one for me and made me do the 1 hour commute there and back to pick it up. His only response was ""there is nothing I can do, best buy is sold out of them"" even though I saw 2 touchpads sitting right on the shelf behind him. I asked him, ""so what are those touchpads?"" and his response was ""oh those are accessories"" even though he was blatantly lying to me. I told him it was a little ridiculous that I placed an online order yesterday at full price and never got a pickup confirmation but they would sell the product the next day for 1/4 of the price and not even notify me. His response again was ""there is nothing I can do about that and you should have asked for a manager before you came in"". The whole time I asked questions, perplexed what was going on, I could not believe this man had the audacity to stand there with a rude smirk on his face and not even offer a single apology or even try to help me in the situation. Does Best Buy really want a man like this running one of their stores? It really makes the company as a whole look bad and I will never, EVER, buy anything in store again. This was the worst display of customer service I have ever encountered and I hope to warn shoppers to be aware of this when shopping at the TO best buy because if you ever run into a problem, you WILL NOT BE TAKEN CARE OF. Not to mention the fact that I called best buy corporate to complain and was put on hold for 45 minutes and then they hung up on me (I was not as mad at that since the telephone people are friendly and courteous). Raymond I hope you read this and realize you are not God and you should treat people how you would like to be treated. more

I'm absolutely satisfied. 9/17/2009

Very efficient, Very knowledgeable, Very professional, and Very friendly. I loved my experience at this store I recommend it to anyone and everyone that is looking for a technology fix. I thought that it'll be just another 'walmart' but I was terribly off. Take advantage of the price match guarantee, this store is really good at honoring it. Happy shopping everyone! more

Best Buy Thousand Oaks is the Best 9/1/2009

I purchase lots of computer and electronics items for my business and I love the TO best buy. Everyone is helpful and they have great customer service. I think the best buy specials are very competitive and they have a price guarantee. Megan is the store manager and she is the best. I used to buy lots of products from FRYS but now I only buy from the TO best buy store. more

Best Buy is wrong 8/16/2009

THIS PLACE SUCKS, ESPECIALLY IN THE COMPUTER DEPARTMENT! WHERE DO THEY GET these NUT CASES OFF THE STREET, PAY THEM MINIMUM WAGE TO SAY WHAT THE CONSUMER WANTS TO HEAR? I CAME IN TO GET A CORD TO HOOK MY DIG CAMERA TO MY COMPUTER, THEY SAID GUARANTEED THAT IT WOULD WORK! I EVEN TOOK THE CAMERA IN AND THEY SHOWED PRODUCT IN A UN OPEN ABLE CONTAINER BAR CODE #6 00603 11578 3, SAID IT WOULD HOOK UP! GUESS WHAT, THEY WERE WRONG! NOW THAT THE PACKAGE HAD TO BE DESTROYED, THEY WON'T TAKE IT BACK EVEN WITH A RECEIPT! IT HOOKED TO THE COMPUTER OK, BUT WITH THE CAMERA, IT WAS LIKE PUTTING A SQUARE PEG INTO A ROUND HOLE! YOUR GEEK SQUAD DON'T KNOW SQUAT ABOUT ANYTHING! A GOOD PLACE TO SHOP FOR C.D.'S, BUT A ROTTEN PLACE TO SHOP FOR COMPUTER ACCESSORIES! I REALLY FEEL I NEED SOMEONE THERE THAT IS EXPERIENCED IN WHAT I NEED AND NOT NOT TO READ A SCRIPT AND SELL ME ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN!!! more

Be Knowledgeable & You'll Have a Good Experience 7/10/2009

If you've done your research and are a bit knowledgeable about what you want and why--Best Buy in TO is pretty good. I went in to buy a laptop a year ago--thinking of one in particular--explained the specs, needs, etc. to a salesperson and she was quite knowledgable. She directed me to a completely different brand--actually it was less expensive (they don't work on commission) and had better features. (Easy to not see/know this on your own when you're looking at electronics of any kind).Bottom line--my laptop is the greatest thing ever. I love it and with the money I saved I was able to get some special software installed and some of the prepackaged junk on it (they all have it) removed by the tech people. Great experience.Only negative: If you're buying something, do some research--not only brands, but also models (this is especially true for electronics--tvs, computers, etc). Best Buy seems to have lower-end models that are "on their way out"--making way for those with better feature more

No more! Expensive , unprofessional and No parking. 2/13/2009

My HP laptop screen wasn't working. The tech claimed the LCD screen need replacement. The laptop was under 5 weeks out of warranty I needed it ASAP, but getting it fixed by best buy was a big hassle. The computer was sent out for repair 3 weeks later I got a call that the laptop unrepairable and they will give me $75 discount on new one. At this point I asked for the computer back took it to a local computer repair store and to my surprise the laptop problem was small board called "Inverter" .Total repair cost was $175, and was ready after 2 days. Are the tech kids there trained only in virus removal? Shame. more

Very Efficient. 5/27/2008

Not only was the store helpful, they were fast, they were professional, and most importantly they were friendly. I always shop there and every time I enter the store I feel like I'm home. I am not gonna lie, it has a very home-like feel the T.O. branch. I will continue to shop there for the rest of my life. I'm set. more

One of the few helpful Best Buy stores 6/22/2006

The T.O. best buy is the only one that I will shop at any longer. The salespeople here are actually friendly, polite and helpful where it seems most stores the employees are very cranky when you ask them anything.\r \r They are helpful with returns where as most will hassle you for any type of return. PROS: Helpful and friendly CONS: Parking is difficult, it's in a very crowded center more

Electronics Superstore 6/14/2005

During holidays, this store can be packed and it can be difficult to find an employee to help you. But normally, staff are around to answer your questions and help you select a product that's right for you. I haven't ever felt pressured here to buy a certain product, though I have had to wait a considerably long time in line to purchase something. more

Best Buy 5/5/2005

I can't imagine there's anyone who hasn't ever been in a Best Buy store, but if you haven't, you're missing a real treat. Not only do they have every type of electronics imaginable, but their employees are well versed in the products carried in their departments. Great prices go along with the great service. more
