The Best Camera Store 11/27/2008

I will not bore you with a lot of words. What I will say is that Simon's is the best camera store I have ever dealt with. I have been a satisfied customer for over 15 years. I no longer live in LA, but when I make my next camera purchase, it will be at Simon's. Pros: Simon's staff is very friendly and patient. They know their craft. Cons: No cons. more

Small shop with professional-level service 9/22/2007

Simon's is not a huge camera store like it's competitors, but there's nothing they do not have or can order for you. Every time I walk in there, they have exactly what I need as a professional photographer. You care guaranteed to have someone say ""Hello"" when you walk in, and they remember who you are. Unless you're spending thousands every time you go in, you won't find that kind of personable service at the competitors, even the one down the street.\r \r The best part? They know what they're talking about! Even Simon himself will take the time to discuss various technologies and options for your needs. Why would you go anywhere else? I've been going there for the past 8 years, and I have no need to go anywhere else.\r \r Thanks, Simon, for providing excellent customer service in a city where there is virtually none left. You're the best! Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable and pro-level service from people who remember you every time. more

Helpful and attentive service as well as reasonable prices. 7/17/2007

As I was searching to see if Simon's Camera had a website up yet, I stumbled across this site and decided to place my input. I've been a customer's at Simon's since the late 80's when I was just starting out as newb to photography in the Photo 101 class at LACC and have since gone on to pursue a career in wedding, corporate and special event photography. I deal with a number of photography store in the Los Angeles area and Simon's has always been a pleasure to do business with. Their prices are competitive and although they may not always have what I'm looking for at the time, they do everything within their ability to point me in right the direction so that I can get what I need, even if it leads me to their competitors. I distinctly remembering when I first started out that the staff never made me feel inferior or stupid when I asked sometimes mundane photographic questions and were willing to listen and assess my needs in order to make suggestions for equipment to purchase as in some cases, to not purchase. Even to this day Simon is still there behind the counters serving and conversing with the customers. If you're looking for a more personal experience and staff that doesn't seem annoyed because you have a question or questions which will take time to answer or treats you as a commodity, then Simon's is the place to go to! As for the comment by 'alju', $250 for $650 isn't too far fetched in terms of what is to be expected of selling equipment. Second hand equipment to a store will usually fetch you approx 25% to 35% of the value depending on the current demand for the equipment and 45% to 65% on eBay or Craigslist. This is comes from personal experience of selling my old equipment as I upgraded my stuff for work. I hope this helps. Pros: Great service and attentiveness to the customer more

just a dirty shop, with horrible service, cheating.. 5/31/2007

Bought 2 used lenses from Simon personally, worth $650.. After checking after turned out one lens wasnt a real photography lens, paid $200, was worth $30.. The other lens is ok, but sells for $200 on ebay, paid $450 to Simon for it.. While byuing, it was very shady, couldnt answer any of my questions.. At the end i just trusted hm and bought them, lesson learned.. :) will do more research next time before i buy.. but i dont appreciate shopkeepers exploiting peoples inexperience.. be careful more

I've been a loyal customer of Simon's Camera for the last 16 years, starting with my first camera in high school to the high-end digital cameras I now use as a professional photographer. Every major purchase I make is through them. They have the best prices and attentive service. I know I'm in good hands at Simon's Camera! Pros: Fabulous service more
