Area is a joke. After spending 2,000 dollars you would think you would get better service. I always take my friends out and they wanted to go to Area ( they are from Ny) after seeing it in so many magazines. I tried to explain the club is already ""out"" but they wanted to go and quickly realized what I mean. No VIP service, no celebs, overpriced drinks, nothing really great. go to another spot! Pros: music Cons: everything more

Great times! 8/3/2007

I was overall impressed with my night out to Area. My boyfriend and I decided to check it out last weekend and being as we are both New Yorkers (he just moved out there and I was visiting him from Brooklyn), we decided we would try to grease the bouncers rather than wasting time waiting in line. Fortunately, there was no need as the guy working the door was so polite and accommodating. We told him we were from New York City and he let us right in, even comping our admission. I told him it was refreshing to have such nice service as guys working the door in NY clubs are much ruder. Drinks were strong albeit pricey, but that is too be expected at that kind of lounge, and the music was great. Place gets pretty crowded, but there are definitly areas where you can relax and enjoy your drink without people pushing into you. Overall I had a great time and will definitely return on my next visit out to LA. Pros: Great Service, music, strong drinks Cons: Crowded at times, long line for the girl's bathroom more

does not present itself as a high end club Cons: Unprofessional, poor ""VIP"" treatment more

Empty Wanna Be Club for White People 12/13/2006

I posted my message about this club before, and obviously, this club doesn't want anyone to know what I'm writing about because the club owners had it deleted. It's a club that wants only white people. Although it was pretty empty on a Friday night, they don't care if you're beautiful or you got money. Their first priority was to let whites in. They make other races wait or don't let them in. I've been to most of the other clubs out there in LA, La Deux, LAX, Mood, and Element would be better choices for atmosphere and service. Pros: New Club Cons: Bouncers, Promoters, Owners only want white people more

Cool atmosphere, Terrible music 11/26/2006

It was alright. We went on a Saturday night, not that hard to get in. The only bad thing was the DJ totally sucked that night and that kind of ruined the vibe. Pros: a place to see and be seen Cons: they need a better DJ if you want to dance more
