X Olive Garden from you eat list 10/10/2009

It was probably 1 hour before closing that we had decided to go to Olive Garden. Keep in mind that I had a new born at this time and time is money when you have one of those. So the hostess sat us down and I kid you not we waited almost 30 minutes before we ask for a manager because every waiter or waitress that passed us just starred at us. How rude is that??? They did not want to take on another table cause it was at the end of the shift...are you kidding me I will never ever go to another Olive Garden ever again and hopefully you wont either if you want to have a good pleasant day Cons: poor poor staff... more

An Example of Demand 12/9/2006

Since Olive Garden is a chain, you can pretty much count on some level of consistency so far as the product goes. As for this particular location, let me tell you what sticks out in comparison to other Olive Gardens I've frequented. Atmosphere: This is one of the nicer Olive Gradens interior ambience and design-wise. Service: We've gone there for dinner well over a dozen times, and service seems to be consistently average. Nothing to go crazy over, but nothing that has ever scared us away. Seating: While there seems to be more than an adequate amount of seating (and parking for that matter) it has always been a nightmare, whether it's 5 pm or 8 pm. Whether it's Tuesday night or Saturday night. I don't think we have ever waited less than a half-an-hour to be seated. I think this serves as an excellent example of the demand for more restaurants of this quality and nature in this southwest area of Tucson. A booming community with tons of new housing communities being built, the commerce - specifically the grocers and restaurants - have not kept up with the demand. Is it worth the wait? Sometimes I wonder myself. But it really is the only restaurant of its kind in the area so you're not left with much choice. Quality of food: Pretty much on par with other Olive Garden chains. Never have had a poorly presented meal. (i.e. cold, tough, etc.) Not out of this world but it serves its purpose - it's just good. One thing I must mention, though, is that everything is loaded with sodium. Every time I eat there I am parched for the rest of the night with insatiable thirst. I truly wish they'd prepare their dishes a little more salt friendly. more
