Great historical museum 7/15/2009

I like the surroundings and history, where you can learn. Very educational. Makes sense and has a point. Teaches you what these people went through in the holocaust, and how lucky you are to have yoru freedom today. You see how these people suffered. Even better than the one in Washington D.C. I cried mye yes out and went through three tissues when I was here with my school group. Pros: Teaches you history about Jewsssss Cons: You may get sad or even cry at worst more

Public Museum or Private Concert Hall? 11/13/2003

On a recent Sunday afternoon, I tried to visit this museum. It was not a Jewish holiday nor the Sabbath or any other holiday. It was just closed. There was no sign explaining why it was closed but a police officer said that the museum was closed for a private concert and he suggested that we come back another time. If this is a public, non-profit, tax-exempt institution, should/could it also be a private club? Cons: randomly closed, out of the way more

  • Created as a living memorial to those who perished during the Holocaust, our Museum honors those who died by celebrating their lives - cherishing the traditions that they embraced, examining their achievements and faith, and affirming the vibrant worldwide Jewish community that is their legacy today. The two quotes that define the Museum's mission - Remember, Never ForgetThere Is Hope For Your Future - also define the Museum's perspective on the events of the twentieth century Jewish experience. Although the Museum centers on life before, during, and after the Holocaust, the obligation to remember is enriched and enhanced by a commitment to the principles of social justice, education, and culture
