My wife recently had her Breast Augmentation done at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery center and Dr. Jed Horowitz did a great job!! However the surgery center leaves something to be desired. I was not allowed to see my wife while in the recovery room until it was time for her to be released. When I asked why, Kim the front desk receptionist stated that it would be a HIPPA violation because there was another patient in the recovery room. The recovery room is setup with individual bays that had curtains that closed and my wife was in a room that was totally enclosed with glass and had curtains. This tells me that the staff does not really understand HIPPA and the education regarding HIPPA is sub par at that facility. (A HIPPA violation in this case would be the patient name and diagnosis together). The surgery center should be more honest and state we do not let people back until the loved one is getting ready to be released. This was a disappointment. As we were driving home my wife informed me that the staff lacked some professionalism. She informed me that when Kim went to ask if I could come back there was some chuckling because I am a R.N. and the staff thought it was funny for some reason or another. This made my wife feel uncomfortable and took away from her experience at the surgery center. When I did finally go back to take my wife home the nurse was very nice and knowledgeable about her job. My wife's pain control was good while at the surgery center. My overall opinion is that Dr. Jed Horowitz is a great surgeon, the nursing care was good, the facility's education in regards to HIPPA is sub par and they should increase their level of professionalism because you never know who is listening.
Pros: Nursing Care
Cons: Sub par education regarding HIPPA, and lack of professionali
