Best

I went to salvation for the first time a couple of months ago and have raved about it since. They have live oak hefeweizen which goes great with the white pie, as well as an assor...

Great service, great pizza, uplifting atmosphere! more

It's a crust thing.. 11/29/2010

Went there with a lunchdeal coupon and was not disappointed. This place certainly gives Home Slice a run for the money. I thought the pizza at Salvation was better, albeit the atmosphere was not up to HS. more

Best Pizza I've Had in Austin 7/1/2009

I've tried most of the pies throughout the city and these are the tastiest. They get the crust right -- always crisp and flavorful ... not that cardboard stuff you end up with most places that feels like just a vehicle for the toppings. The place can get crowded and even take out can take an hour so plan ahead. Pros: Great crust and delicious toppings more

Headed down hill 5/8/2009

I've been raving about this place since I found it but the last few visits have been very disappointing. Ordered a large #6 last night and got home with a SOGGY mess with very few toppings for over $20. 3/4 ended up in the trash. I guess it's back to the Brick Oven for me. Sorry to see Salvation Pizza dropped from my list of regular places to dine. Pros: Was a great pizza joint Cons: Quality is suffering big time more

Great Pizzas at great prices 1/26/2009

Joined some friends here for half price beer. Four of us ordered the large (which is huge) artichoke and eggplant pizza. It was delicious and more than enough for the four of us. Pretty cool place. Nice vibe for the location. Well worth the visit. more

Great pizza, spotty service 6/15/2008

The pizza is consistently fantastic. I'm from NY, so I'm quite picky and was consistently disappointed in Austin until I tried Salvation. They have great crusts, great toppings, and great cheese, so I've been quite contented with every pie I've gotten there. The service, on the other hand, is spotty. At times, it's been very quick despite being slammed, and a few Friday/Saturday nights, I've deeply regretted setting foot in the place. It seems to be getting better over time and I haven't had a bad experience in at least six months, so it's still among my favorite places to eat in Austin. Pros: Delicious pizza even by a New Yorker's standards Cons: Spotty service--usually good, occasionally awful more

Man Oh Man 6/8/2008

I went to salvation for the first time a couple of months ago and have raved about it since. They have live oak hefeweizen which goes great with the white pie, as well as an assortment of wines and brews. I live near UT Campus and believe me I've tried every pizza place from south first to north loop, Salvation is by far the tastiest. If you live in central austin, or go to UT, Salvation Pizza is a must try. more

Pizza lover, loves Salvation 12/30/2007

I have been searching for this kind of pizza salvation since I was in Italy! Perfect thin crust, light on the sauce but not on flavor, REAL cheese...a shame you even have to wonder but real cheese it is! Quite atmosphere inside and great spacious outdoor seating! If you love pizza you must try Salvation! Oh and they are fast at making the pies! more

Best Pizza yet! 12/6/2007

Love the Pizza. Tastes just like the ones I used to get in NYC after a long nite out! Really tasty, crisp think crust, just the right amount of pizzazz in the sauce. The Clam Pizza w/ bacon was awesome. I'd eat here anyday! Pros: Pizza Cons: hard to find parking more

Highly recommended Pizza joint 6/25/2007

Very good pizza here. You won't be disappointed. Good beer selection. Great place to hang out. more

Best Pizza in Austin! 6/25/2007

My husband and I are major pizza lovers and think Salvation Pizza is hands down the best in Austin! The crust is perfectly thin and leaves you feeling satiated instead of full while allowing the sauce and toppings to speak for themselves. Speaking of toppings, Salvation offers a wide variety and also has some of the most unique combinations of toppings out there on their specialty pizzas. And don't miss the salad because the sundried tomato vinaigrette is perfection for the palate. Pros: Quaint atmosphere, great outdoor deck seating, FABULOUS FOOD! Cons: Any that come to mind are overshadowed by the delicious pizza! more

Salvation for Austin pizza scene 5/15/2007

This could be the Salvation of Austin pizza - great and varied pizza, personal feeling, not a chain and not gimmicky. This is a place where what you see is what you get. . . and the pizza is superb. Try to go a bit later in the evening to avoid biggest crunch for space. Pros: the pizza Cons: spartan surroundings, but who cares more

Great pizza, poor service! 4/29/2007

My friends brought us to dinner and said that Salvation has great pizza. They were not lying. I love the freshness and crunchy crust. 2 thumbs up for the pizza. Pros: Fresh goodness Cons: Horrible service, in dire need of NEW waitstaff more

Best pizza in Austin 2/16/2007

Salvation Pizza is undoubtedly the best pizza in the city of Austin. It is a thin-crust, neopolitan style pizza that is to die for!. Yes, it is crispy. And that's the way this pizza is supposed to be! This isn't a pizza chain like Mr. Gattis or Dominos where the dough is undercooked and squishy. No, Salvation Pizza is the real thing. It best compares to Harry's Pizza in West Hartford, Connecticut. In fact, the owner of Salvation Pizza is the daughter of the owners of Harry's Pizza. Pros: Awesome pizza, charred, crispy, crust Cons: Service a little slow, street parking more

Doesn't quite work 2/13/2007

A pizza place, nearby, with thin crust? A plus! Went on a Sunday night, the place was slow. I noticed that most people around me had no food, which is a bad sign. As usual, I was starving, and ordered right away. Unfortunately, the only option for an appetizer is a salad. Period. You can have a salad and choice of 2 dressings. Pros: parking could be an issue Cons: plenty... more

Best pizza in Austin. 2/9/2007

I think Salvation rocks. I'm from the Northeast and that's some fine, old school pie. It's real Neopolitian, crispy and thin, with a great choice of interesting toppings. The place is small and I've always found the staff to be super friendly, which is why I think the last review irked me. I was also dining there on the 6th and was actually in the same room as the aforementioned party. It was about 12 people who all came seperately and ordered at seperate times. As a former waitperson, it just seems to me that a little common sense on their part would have made their experience way more enjoyable. My pie came out after all of theirs had and I don't think we waited more than 30 minutes. And it was great as usual. Just felt like I needed to defend my new favorite neighborhood restaurant. Viva Salvation. more
