Recently purchased new tires from Sears. Initially, everything seemed fine. On-sale tires, quick to put on. Within 12 hours of the new tires being placed, I had a flat. AAA changed flat, and immediately, we took the car back to Sears (on a Saturday). First, we were told the stem valve was loose. 4 hours later, we were told the tire was manufactered wrong, and a new tire would be in on Monday. Come Monday afternoon, after Sears had the car for 6 hours, we were called and told that there was a puncture in the side wall. Because that was completely different from what we had first been told, I told the tech. to not spend any money on the tire, and to double check with another tech. 2 hours later, I called back, and was told that it was "patched".... which is funny, because you are not supposed to patch a puncture in the side wall. The tech told me it would cost "about $20". Also frusterating, because we heard 4 different stories in 3 days from 4 different people. After speaking to the manager, I am still unclear about what exactly went wrong. Never got a new tire. I will never go to Sears for any car repairs, ever.
