Midway was a name I had seen all over, & looking at their website I felt their selection of deco & rental items was expansive & everything seemed affordable, so I used them for our wedding. I worked with several individuals throughout the entire planning process & everything seemed very efficient. When most of my items were ordered I primarily worked with consultants on the ceiling draping for our reception venue. I sent one a picture & described what we wanted, & she drove to the venue, took measurements & quickly got me an estimate, which I felt was very affordable ($500 for ceiling & doorway organza draping & lights). The day before our wedding my family & I got to decorate the reception venue & got to view the draping ? it was beautiful & just what I asked for. Our problems with Midway started when a family member noticed the beverage fountain that was delivered & placed on a table with a white cloth ? it was leaking some kind of brown fluid all over the cloth & staining it. The fluid smelled like alcohol, so the previous users had likely served champagne in it. It was very disgusting, getting a dirty beverage fountain (probably is against health codes) & when we called Midway?s emergency line (we noticed this after 8pm on a Friday night when they were closed) & left a message we never got a response. At least the club?s manager was able to clean up the fountain for us to use, but it never worked properly ? half the time our beverage came out & the lights were on & half the time nothing worked. I feel I wasted my money on the drink & the fountain. Also, after Midway had picked up our rental items, a consultant emailed me to say that we had broken some mirror tiles and would have to pay for them - we know we didnt break anything. In my response I mentioned the dirty beverage fountain, wasted drink and no response to our phone call. Midway?s response surprised me ? they apologized, refunded the fountain cost and didn?t charge us for the broken mirror tiles.
Pros: Friendly & helpful consultants; beautiful organza/light draping; wide selection of items to rent; rental prices seemed reasonable; delivery and pickup of rental items available.
Cons: We were given a dirty beverage fountain - did Midway forget to clean it or bring us a fountain right from someone else?s event? Also, we think the delivery people broke the mirrors in transit.
