Do not go here if you have visitors (OR IF YOU ARE PLANNING A WEDDING!) I stayed here and they KNEW it was a wedding party. They absolutely ruined my wedding! Made me 2 hours late because I have to scramble to find a new hotel that ALLOWS guest! Which all of them do beside this hotel! Once all my bride’s maid/hair stylist came into the location they were extremely rude and unprofessional! They front desk girls are very unhelpful and extremely rude with their little comments…. We decided to check out of that hotel, the manager on duty (SHE’S A RUDE RUDE PERSON AND SHOULD NOT BE A MANAGER AT ALL) saw that my husband that a hand full of stuff and could not even open the door yelled across the lobby “HEY WE NEED YOUR ROOM KEY!!!” So unprofessional. We ended up stay at the Travel Lodge by the space needle, SAME PRICE, NICE STAFF, and PROFESSIONAL AND YOU CAN HAVE VISITORS! They have breakfast; they have a fridge in your room. DO NOT STAY HERE OR ELSE YOU WILL REGRET IT AND HAVE TO FIND A NEW HOTEL WITH SHORT NOTICE… BOOO THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD!!!! 2 thumbs down for The Moore. more

Pictures can be ""photo-shopped""! 8/4/2011

Wow! Where are the rooms that they show on the website??? This place is out of a bad movie. Rooms were tiny, old, dirty, and hot. The AC was a 5"" fan in front of the window that did a great job of bringing in the sounds of the homeless fighting and the urine smell from the alley. TV was about 13"". Spent one night in a ""Euro Room"" - shared bath was OK but only 1 1/2 for about 12 -14 rooms. Own room the next night had a bathroom. Shower was about 2' x 2'. Though close to Pike's Market, 2nd Ave. is a terrible street to do any walking on, especially at night. Now, all that being said, if the website & reviews had been accurate I would not have booked the room. I would love for someone from the Moore Hotel to prove to me that the pictures on the website were actaully taken at this hotel. Pay a little more and look elsewhere!!! more

Well now, I guess you can't please everyone! I was reading the review by UnagiGirl and I just can't seem to get past it. I have had the pleasure to stay at the Moore on several occasions on my trips to Seattle. Is it the Ritz ? No, you want the Ritz then go there. I knew there was no parking because it is ""clearly"" stated on their website and when I wrote them a note from their website and asked about parking (important to know) they told me there were lots available and on street parking but not for free. Enough said. You want cool and funky ? Then go to the Moore. People are very helpful and it reminds me very much of a time gone by and Europe. Can't beat the location. The SAM, Pike Place, Seattle Center, Nordstrom, Macy's, Monorail all within walking distance. The bus is free if you want to ride down to the Seahawk Stadium but I love the 10 block walk to Pioneer Square. (that's where the stadium is). All in all, I recommend the Moore hotel to people without hesitation. more

Worst Service in all of Seattle 11/4/2010

I booked a room at the Moore for a night. On the website, while booking, one of the very few amenities was free parking, a very huge bonus for downtown. When we pulled up to the hotel loading zone, I asked the front desk person where we could park. He said they actually don't have free parking but do have an agreement for parking up the street at a garage. I asked him if it was free because the website said it was. more

amazing suites yet so cheap!!!!! 11/24/2008

this place is amazing!!!!!!!!!! The suites are beautiful.about 3-4 blocks from the water front and minutes from the shopping district.the suit we got was only 125$. it was amazing with a mini kitchen an anchway that seperated the living room from the bedroom with a dinning room with classy plates. the bedroom had a green silk bedspread a flat screen tv with two walk in closets.. i highly recomend this hotel!!!!!!! I checked into the Moore Hotel last night for a conference and left my toiletries on the sink. Pros: location, price Cons: Service (maids hid my toiletries, last time I was there - no hot water.) more

some details about the Moore 8/21/2007

I had trouble finding specific details of what rooms at The Moore included, so I wanted to elaborate. We booked suite 705 for just over $100 per night. The kitchenette included: coffemaker (coffee was provided, but I'd reccomend going out for coffee or buying your own), 2-eye range, sink, mini fridge, table for 2, love seat and coffee table. The bedroom was separated by a doorway (not an actual door). Included were: very comfy queen sized bed, one nightstand, TV (cable too!), small dresser, and a good-sized walk-in closet with several hangers. The room DID NOT have an alarm clock (luckily, my cell phone has one). The attached private bathroom had an old-fashioned claw-foot tub ( with shower curatins all around), pedistal sink, medicine cabinet, hairdryer and toilet. There was little space for storage of toiletries in the bathroom. Pros: Location Cons: no frills more

I'm from Sydney, Australia, I viisted Seattle twice and in both occasions I stayed at the Moore Hotel, if I come back, and I definitely will again as Seattle is one of my favourite cities in North America, the Moore is where I'd like to stay again, the location is perfect, the staff is very friendly, to me anyway, the rooms are basic but comfortable and clean and in both ocasions I was given rooms with nice views of the water, a bonus, and yes, you can't beat the price. more

Definitely no-frills, but you can't do better for the money. 3/25/2007

My boyfriend had stayed at the Moore Hotel 6 years ago on a cross-country trip, so when he suggested that we stay there on our recent trip to Seattle, I let him take care of our vacation plans. We took public transit ( MT194 / $1.25) from SEATAC, which lets you off 3 blocks from the hotel - an easy walk. Pros: Great value; walking distance to almost everything Seattle Cons: Limited in-room amenities (clocks, etc.) more

I don't get it. 11/8/2006

We recently stayed at the Moore on recommendations I read here & I'm sorry but I just don't get it. Our primary issue was no heat. There was a radiator in the room but no means of turning it on. We called down to the front desk and were told that the heat is on a timer & we couldn't control it but it was due to come on at 8p. The person at the front desk said that most guests complain because it gets too hot. At 10p-still no heat. Apparently the maintenance guy was handling a family emergency so there wasn't anything they could/would do except offer us the one remaining room. Unfortunately when we checked out that room there was no heat there either & it was an even more depressing room than the one we were already in. But putting aside the lack of heat, which I assume was a temporary problem, there were still absolutely no amenities...no phone book, no clock, no hangers in the closet. Frustratingly the sheets were too small for the bed so we fought that all night & every time I woke up I was on bare mattress. Also, there were events in the theatre both nights we stayed and it was so incredibly loud. One night it was a comedienne and we listened to raucous laughter until 11pm. The next night it was a concert and the walls literally vibrated to the point that the headboard, which was attached to the wall, was banging. It certainly is not what I would consider romantic by any stretch of the imagination. We were on the 4th floor so maybe that was part of the problem. It seems that those reviewers who gave this hotel positive reviews make reference to the higher floors so if you are going to give this a shot, be sure to ask for a higher floor. I will concede that the location is terrific (we could see the Space Needle from our window) & the rate was very low...we paid about $90 a night which is unheard of for that area of the city but in future I would gladly pay more for a nicer room. Best Hotel for that price ever been to in US 10/3/2006

Whilst reading through some other reviews I really cannot understand what you are talking about. I stayed at the moore for 3 nights and liked everything around. The receptionist were very kind and helpful, especially robert. I would recommend this place to everyone. Pros: reception and price Cons: late check in more

The Rudest Front Desk Ever 9/18/2006

Robert, the employee at the front desk, was the rudest person I have ever encountered in any service position. We were in Seattle for the weekend scouting locations for an upcoming televsion series and decided to stay at this funky hotel. The hotel room was great, minus a small problem, but Robert at the front desk was beyond rude. With comments like ""I am not here to accomodate you"" and ""you don't like it, go find another hotel"" I am truly embarassed for the owners and managers of The Moore. I will discourage any and everyone I know from staying there and will encourage City Search to drop them from thier listing. more

The service here was beyond horrible. When we complained about the TV not working, the front desk employee actually said ""I don't want to hear it. Either you leave or I call the cops."" Bad, bad, bad. more

""TOSSED OUR RESERVATION"" 9/3/2006

You were referred by Citysearch as one of the best budget hotels to stay at and I just recently called to confirm my reservation (having had provided my credit card information a month ago for my honeymoon). When I called today, the phone was answered by Robert (he said he is the manager) and our reservation might have been ""tossed."" He said there are plenty of rooms available and asked for my credit card information. I said I already did a month ago and retorted back at me with such poor customer service. I immediately knew this was not a place that deserved our business. I am highly disappointed with Citysearch's recommendation. more

Friendly and fun! 8/3/2005

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Moore Hotel and had a great time. The staff was extreemly friendly and the rooms were very trendy. It is located a few blocks from the Pike Street Market, and a short walk from the water front, so there is plenty to do with in walking distance. While we had some down time it was also fun to sit by the window and watch the crazy stuff poeple did on the streets below. If you are looking for a fun hotel while you explore down town Seattle the Moore Hotel is a really great place to stay! Pros: Friendly Staff, Location, Trendy Rooms Cons: Parking, No A/C more

Great Location! 5/20/2005

If one needs only a place to crash, this location cannot be beat! It is only a few blocks from the Farmer's Market and the Waterfront. Basic needs are met...usually. I had some problem with my water pressure, but other than that, I felt like the place was a great find. more

Simple, clean, great price. 3/6/2005

Got a double for $80 (including tax). Fantastic price for a Hotel overlooking the water, right in downtown Seattle. Room was very clean, good size, with a comfy bed and a nice view. Highly recommended. Pros: Clean, Good size, Price! Cons: No parking more

very cool, great value 10/2/2004

the decor is sparse, the location is amazing, the value is over the top - i was a single woman travelling in seattle and i was completely comfortable staying there. i was really pleased not to spend my budget on a place to stay but got to spend on seeing and experiencing Seattle. the only slight drag is the parking because the overnight parking expires at 7am and has to be renewed by 7am - but heck, why sleep late when there is so much to see in a beautiful city. the rooms don't have alarm clocks, but the front desk will make a wake up call at any time you desire Pros: cool factor, excellent value, location! more
