Breakfast Great ... Pasta dishes at dinner not so much. 11/25/2011

I have enjoyed eating at Radial for many years... the breakfast menu is awesome and this review comes from nothing but love. However, recently on a night out with friends we went to Radial to try out the new dinner menu. Three out of four of us had a different pasta dish. To be honesty it wasn't the worst pasta I have had ...but it wasn't great either. We discussed between us and agreed that there was no flavor to the dish that enticed the taste buds to eat more. The consensus between us was... ""Uneventful and we wouldn't order a pasta dish again"" I never toss the baby out with the bath water so, I /we plan to go back and try something else on the menu. Having said that I believe that it's important to express to the owner(s) when you feel you didn't have the best experience. So Frank, coming from love... work on the pasta dishes crank up the flavor. To be fair the fourth friend had the special of the night and ""loved it!"" more

My favorite place now serving dinner AND drinks! 10/10/2011

I've been going to Radial consistently and particularly since new ownership and chef changes last year. Now it's gotten even better! Not only with updated renovations to the dining space, Radial now is open for dinner and boasts a full bar. I was there recently and had wonderfully braised pork and pappardelle, and couldn't resist sampling my other party's short-ribs which were perfection! Radial has always gotten dessert just right, so I was not surprised by the great array of wonderful desserts they've added to the dinner menu. Overall, thoughtfully composed menu, eco-friendly business values, commitment to the community and local economy. Frank Bragg got it just right! more

New owner and a new chef! 11/18/2010

I've noticed the changes at Radial Cafe over the past few months, and its just getting better! I really like the daily special pancakes and there is usually a special french toast too. I always add the pure maple syrup to take my cakes over the top! I enjoy the casual but attentive service and can honestly say that my coffee was always kept hot and filled. I love to meet friends here during the week and on weekends during the popular Saturday and Sunday brunch...talk about fun energy! more

wonderful experience at Radial 7/14/2010

Wonderful service and the food was excellent. I was able to really appreciate the taste of organic food. The herbs and spices added made it even more delightful. We also admire the quality of service they gave us. It was a truly wonderful experience at Radial. more

Appetizing food at Radial 7/11/2010

A friend of ours suggested this place, I tried it out once. My friend was right. The food was superb and tasted really fresh. The entrees were piping hot and the server made me laugh with his jokes. Great place. more

Great Breakfast 7/11/2010

I travelledacross town based upon the reviews and I was not dissapointed. I had the Hash and it was refreshing to see something that was not from a can. I could taste all the herbs. The raspberry jam was wonderful and so was the hummus plate.\r \r I will be back! Pros: Fresh herbs and spices Cons: hot in the summer more

Our go to place for a GOOD, GREEN breakfast 10/29/2009

Radial is a great place for breakfast, lunch or brunch! Why? This is a green restaurant with organic food. The food tastes good and the price is right! Owner Phil Palmer is good to the local community. Love the different artists exhibited in the restaurant. Cool vibe. Pros: Good food that's good for the planet, fun ambience Cons: Need to steal Ria's recipe for from scratch whip cream more

Mmm...Radial omelet!! 10/29/2009

Radial is awesome. My favorite items are 1) their signature omelet which comes with deliciously sauteed mushrooms, onions and red pepper, pepper-jack cheese, and tomato and sour creme on the side 2) their AMAZING hashbrown potatoes--they are sliced au graten style and contain some sort of magical, spicy, creamy heavenly seasoning 3) their patio and 4) the fact that they are so committed to being an active and positive part of the community by hosting all sorts of wonderful events such as local art exhibits and joining the Green Restaurant Association. If you haven't been, you should definitely check them out. You'll be sure to find delicious food served by friendly folks at a price that won't break your budget. Have an omelet for me! Pros: Delicious, fun, great service, nice atmosphere Cons: Couldn't take it with me when I moved more

Great Breakfast / Brunch with wonderful weekly specials! 10/29/2009

Radial is one of my favorite places to eat in town for Breakfast, Brunch / Lunch. It has a nice casual feel with a great mix of people The food is always fresh and reasonably priced, and the servers & host(esses) are always friendly. On my latest visit I had the special Cinnamon Butternut Squash Pancakes. They were perfectly cooked and super tasty. I mean where else in-town can you find pancakes with squash in them, that are also delicious to boot. Some of my personal favorites are the Vegetarian Biscuits & Gravy with Rosemary Fennel Gravy (you can get them with real sausage too), The Jerk Patty Melt, The Breakfast Burrito, and of course any version of Pancakes. Some other noteworthy specials are the Southern Fried Catfish & Smoked Gouda Grits, Bananas Foster French Toast, The Breakfast Casserole with flaky layers of bread, mixed with veggies and sausage, Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, and the Biscuit French toast (Yes you are reading this correctly! It's just like it sounds instead of using bread they batter and cook up biscuits totally INSANE!) If you are ever looking for a new regular Brunch spot in Atlanta this is the place. I've taken countless out of town friends here and every time they return we always have to make a trip back. Highly recommended. Pros: Has some of the best biscuits and pancakes in town. more

Fantastic Food, Atmosphere and Staff!!! 10/29/2009

A few years ago I was told about Radial from a couple of friends of mine who live in Inman Park. And, boy am I glad they did! \r \r The food is fresh, fast and fantastic. I especially LOVE the Veggie Gravy - the best gravy I have ever tasted. The weekend specials usually include some kind of unique grits dish and fruity waffle/pancake dsh. Sometimes my friends and I will splurge and split a 'special' waffle/pancake along with our own individual breakfasts. Also, I love the fact Radial has turkey bacon and veggie sausage along with the usual sides. \r \r The restaurant is large and open, so my fiends and I usually don't have to wait very long to be seated. \r The servers are very friendly and quick.\r \r I have been going to Radial for several years now. I have never had a bad experience. Luckily, I live in Decatur and I make it to Radial every weekend. Pros: Best GRAVY I have ever tasted! The Service is TOP NOTCH! Cons: Nothing more

Overpriced food of poor quality 10/19/2009

I went with my gf because we live in the area and had not tried out Radial yet. \r \r At first glance the prices looked reasonable, but on further inspection no sides are included. \r \r I ordered a mocha for 3.75 and it came in a small mug that had walls half an inch thick. I would say it was about half the size of the smallest drink at your local coffee house. \r \r I also ordered the ""special"" of the day. As in special for Radial to bump up their profit margin. I ordered the Cinnamon Apple french toast. I saw on the menu the emphasis on local organic ingredients. I suppose the apples were local and organic, but they were diced so small I could barely taste anything. The french toast just tasted like bread. There wasn't any thing besides the appearance that made me think other wise. \r \r My girlfriend bought the hash that was unremarkable, but it came with a decent amount of toast so I was able to leave with my hunger somewhat satisfied. \r \r I will never be returning to Radial and I am surprised anyone does eat there. Organic food doesn't have to mean bland and overpriced, though I do understand it costs more. \r \r Anyways this is just my two cents...nevermind that is gone also as the people at Radial tack a surcharge on your bill that 'can be removed' if you dont feel like paying it. \r \r Do yourself a favor and drive a few miles to one of the other breakfast establishments in the area. I have been to nearly all of them and they are all much better. \r \r Note - I wasn't able to publish this with Zero stars.\r Pros: Cool building Cons: Everything else more

Awesome Breakfast and Brunch in Atlanta! 7/10/2009

Radial is a great place to go to for breakfast, brunch or lunch. They serve breakfast all day, which I love! The pancakes are amazing! We also tried the hummus sandwhich and turkey burger, which was really good too. It has a casual atmosphere and a huge space, so it never feels too crowded, like many breakfast restaurants around town. Pros: Pancakes!! Cons: Nothing more

Great coffee & yummy food! 6/25/2009

Radial has NEVER disappointed this self-declared brunch critic. A solid menu with daily specials features choices for everyone and all options are so affordable! To boot, the restaurant is a member of the Green Restaurant Association and complies with the environmentally-conscious standards of the organization. Bottom line: check it out, you'll be hooked, 'nuff said. Pros: Deliciously strong coffee more
