The Place is now called Vida Hollywood. Stay away! The change of name has taken place in great part due to negative web comments from extremely unhappy residents.\r \r If you value your quiet time. If you enjoy the opportunity to live in a clean, odor-free environment. If you think that a responsive management team would be beneficial in your new prospective residence. RUN, do not walk, RUN from Vida Hollywood Apartments. \r \r Do you like club Music? Well, if you are considering residency at Vida Hollywood, you better like it. 4 nights a week the thumping from a club around the corner shakes the entire building 'til the wee hours of the morning. That thumping is usually drowned out however by the rest of the high volume reverberations within the building. The place is just plain loud. The lease dictates that the sound goes down at 10, but it never does. So, you call the courtesy security patrol and leave a message. They don't respond, so you get to listen to whatever everyone else in this fraternity style overpriced building is listening to. \r \r The office staff is unresponsive, unorganized and without systems for the simplest things. Get a UPS or FED EX? Bring the notification to the office and you will be likely to find a line of tenants with different needs in front of one the the staff member's desks while 2 of the 3 staff members are outside smoking. The remaining staff member will ask you to come back in an hour (when they're done smoking). Upon your return, you will wait while they search and scramble to find the package. Then, they'll just hand it to you.... no ID necessary. \r \r Do you like the smell of Pot? Well, if you are considering moving in, you better like it a lot. Just open your window at just about any time of the day and I challenge you to avoid a contact high. This particular feature is great for the kids!\r \r Do you like the smell of body odor and alcohol as it emanates from homeless people asleep on the sidewalk? Sure, you can get that too. They sleep directly in front of the place. \r \r Reasonable rent for all of these amenities? Hell no! You can pay top of the rent chart and still get the noise at all hours, the urine smell, the homeless in front of your home, the unresponsive management who, by the way has proven to me that they would much rather be right, than do what is necessary in order to keep a happy tenant. \r \r The only recommendation I can make relative to this nightmare of an apartment complex is run. Run as fast as you can from the building. Don't rent here. Just don't more

DO NOT LIVE AT THE VICTOR 1/21/2010

Don't be fooled by the looks & location of The Victor. It is the most awful place I have ever lived in my life! After living there for less than 2 months I was already wanting desperately to get out of my lease & move anywhere but here. (BTW, every other building in the area is less expensive & just as nice if not nicer.) I read these reviews before moving in & thought that there were a few people that just had a bad experience. I was wrong. DO NOT LIVE AT THE VICTOR!!!!!!! There really are drug dealers that live on every floor of the building. The first floor really does smell like weed 24/7. The garage really does smell like something died in it. People really do party, scream & yell all night long. The residents really are immature, dirty & lazy. Apparently, walking down the hall way to the trash shoot is far too difficult so they just throw their trash in the hallway or down the stairs. There are empty beer bottles in the back stair way that have been there for over 2 months now. It's not at all secure. The doors are always broken & propped open. One nice thing is that there's a sauna on every floor but the 4th. They have washers & dryers in them & they're labeled ""Laundry Room"" but they are hotter than hell! I don't even know where to begin w/ how horrendously awful the management/office staff is! First off, everything that everyone else has already said is 100% true. With the exception of Judith, they are RUDE and do not give a s*** about the residents. They are out the door at 6pm SHARP every day. I went to pick up a package that was dropped off in the office (since I am one of the few residents that actually has a JOB I am never home during office hours) I got there at 6:01 and caught 2 of the managers as they were walking out of the office door. I asked if they could grab my package for me quickly & they claimed to ""not have the keys."" Really? How are you locking the door b****?!? THEN, the #1 reason I moved to The Victor was b/c I was told it was perfectly fine to have my dog there. Well, one month later they put notes on everyone's door saying all dogs over 30 lbs needed to find a new home or the dog & the resident would be evicted. AND THEN, people have guests park in the garage ALL THE TIME. This doesn't bother me b/c no one has ever parked in my spot & it really doesn't matter since the lot is more than half empty b/c no one lives there anymore. Well this week I am driving a rental car b/c mine is in the shop. When I went into the garage this morning, I discovered that the stupid f***ing a**holes in the office had MY car towed from MY assigned spot! I went to the office to tell them this and what did the c**t offer to do to fix the situation? Call me a cab to the tow lot. Oh gee, thanks whore! I'd love to take a $30 cab ride on top of the $260 that I have to pay to get my car back for some thing that was YOUR FAULT! I can't wait to get the f*** out of The Victor! Do yourself a favor & do not even go near this place! Oh yeah, one more thing. Have you ever lived in an apartment where you have to pay for your water & trash? I never have until I moved into the fabulous Victor! And not only that, you pay for water TWICE. You have to pay your LADWP (Los Angeles Dept. of WATER & Power) and then they send you a completely separate bill for trash & water. If they're going to charge me for thrash, they could at least f***ing pick it up every once in a while! Pros: Pool Cons: Everything else more
